Shine a light through an open door
Full Name>> Shiori Takara Hamasaki
Nicknames>> ---
Age>> July 12; 14
Staff or Student>> Student
House>> White Ribbon
Gender>> Female
Sexuality>> Heterosexual
Face Claim>> Sakura Miyawaki
Turn away 'cause I need you more
Personality>> Shiori is a very family-oriented girl. She loves her family as it is and would do anything to protect her father and ‘sister’. She can get rather defensive if someone says something about her family in a negative manner. At times she can be moody, but most of the time she’s friendly, if not a little reserved like her father.
A little sensitive, Shiori can feel hurt or attacked easily. A person who likes to be liked, Shiori doesn’t like being the center of attention, but would rather fade into the background as the friend who is always there for you, without fail. She is a trustworthy, understanding individual who sometimes has issue with her pride getting in the way.
Likes>> Winning, swimming, singing, competition, cats
Dislikes>> Losing, having to go out and search for her horse when he won’t meet her at the fence-line, sugary sweet food, Coka Cola, Snakes
Fears>> Shiori fears snakes and she’s also scared of being caught out alone after dark (things can happen to young girls out alone at night, after-all).
Hopes>> She hopes to graduate school and get accepted into a good college or university and she hopes to compete at international levels one day.
Secrets>> Shiori started cantering and galloping her horse long before her dad allowed her to and she also loves My Little Pony, Friendship is Magic... but her biggest secret is the fact that last year she had a boyfriend, which according to her father she's not allowed to have until she's at least sixteen. She hid the fact she had a boyfriend from both her father and her sister, because if it ever got out that she disobeyed her father's rule, dated and kissed the boy, she'd be in a world of trouble.
It’s the way I’m feeling I just can’t deny
Appearance>> A small girl, Shiori stands only five feet with a petite build and small bone-structure that makes her seem smaller than she really is. Her black hair, dark eyes and pale skin tell of her Japanese heritage.
Being born two months premature seemed to have predisposed her to naturally be small. She has issues keeping her weight where it needs to be and, soaking wet, doesn’t even weight ninety-five pounds. Shiori is mostly deaf in her left ear and has a habit of tilting her head to the side in order to hear well.
Shiori likes to keep her hair sort of long and has thick bangs that hang down over her forehead, giving a more childlike air about her. She isn’t into all the big bows and bracelets that her ‘sister’ Akiko is into.

Criminal History>> ---
Full History>> Born two months premature, Shiori spent her first four months in the hospital before being allowed to come home, where she was loved dearly by both parents until her mothers’ untimely death at the hands of breast cancer.
For the first few years of her life, monthly check-ups were normal, then in became twice yearly, then finally just once yearly.
Early on during her life, her father got her involved with horses and horseback-riding, even moreso after her mother’s death. It was a way the two could bond, and Shiori fell in love with riding.
Always a small child, she started with ponies… and never quite worked her way up. At the age of six she was gifted with a horse of her very own, a grey Welsh Pony gelding by the name of Rio. Shiori and Rio instantly clicked. The small, quiet girl and the tenacious pony with more heart than height.
Even though the circumstances were sad, Shiori was rather excited for her cousin to come live with her and her dad. Shiori and Akiko made instant friends, despite their differences. It wasn’t long before Shiori looked up to Aki like a younger sister would an older sister and the two went and did just about everything together.
School was yet another matter in which Shiori excelled at. By the time she was mid-way through grade school, tests had shown that she was above her current grade level and with her dad's approval, the school system bumped her up a grade.
Upon hearing about the move to Blue Ridge, Shiori grew quite excited, as she hopes to further both her education and horseback-riding skills.
We found love in a hopeless place
