Shine a light through an open door
Full Name>> Akiko Katsumi Minami-Hamasaki
Nicknames>>Aki
Age>> March 19, 14
Staff or Student>> Student
House>> Yellow Ribbon
Gender>> Female
Sexuality>> Heterosexual

Turn away 'cause I need you more
Personality>> Akiko is bubbly, there’s no other word for it. She’s a friendly sprite who is always smiling, laughing or otherwise expressing herself. Not much seems to get her down and she considers herself blessed to be living with her uncle Hiro after her parents murder and lets him know it regularly.
Aki is friendly and outgoing, a far cry from the reserved man her uncle is. She likes cute clothing and accessories and loves all animals, especially reptiles. Action-adventure movies such as Godzilla, Fast and Furious, Hitman and Lord of War are her favorites and she also likes horror. Aki likes to cook and her favorite things to cook are sweets such as cakes, cookies and rock candy.
Likes>> Drawing, pop music, shopping, all animals that are cute and fluffy/furry, cute hair accessories, reptiles
Dislikes>> Cheesy comedy/romance movies, Cheetos, bluegrass music, celery sticks, dark make-up
Fears>> Aki is scared of alligators (the only reptile she really doesn’t like). She is also scared of going to the dentist.
Hopes>> She hopes to make her parents proud because she knows they are looking down and watching her from Heaven and she hopes to make her uncle Hiro proud by doing the best she can in school and in life. Aki also hopes it’s fairly easy to learn to ride horses.
Secrets>> Akiko once brought home and hid a snake in her room for three weeks before it got loose and bit her younger sister/cousin, thus resulting in a trip to the hospital for Shiori and a dead ‘pet’ snake for Aki.
It’s the way I’m feeling I just can’t deny
Appearance>> One good thing about the Japanese… they all seem to favor. With black hair that shines under the sunlight and almost equally dark eyes and a pale skintone, Akiko can only be described as attractive. Standing at a scant five feet and two inches, her slight figure holds an abundance of action and fire packed down into one dynamic package.
With a near constant smile lighting up her face, Aki nearly always is in a good mood and is equally approachable. Her nails, both fingernails and toenails, often are painted in a vast array of colors and unless she’s riding, her hair boasts some sort of unique accessory such as big bows, small hats, barretts, clips, etc…
Markings>> Her ears are pierced.
But I’ve gotta let it go
Medical History>> Basic illnesses such as a cold, the Flu, etc… She broke her wrist at the age of ten after having a bicycle accident.
Criminal History>> ---
Full History>> Born in America, this Japanese girl enjoyed a fun-filled life with a daredevil mother and outgoing father for her first few years. Akiko’s family traveled around quite a bit. Her parents enjoyed seeing new places, so by the time she was four, she had already seen Washington DC, the Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore and several other historical sites in the United States.
All that changed within a heartbeat when her parents were murdered, shattering her life and turning it upside down. She was placed in foster care until relatives could be found. Akiko was horrified when she was informed that her grandparents lived in Japan and she’d have to go live with them. She didn’t even speak Japanese and had never met them!
Grateful doesn’t even begin to describe the feeling when her uncle seemingly appeared out of nowhere to take her in, thus keeping her from the captive clutches of the grandparents. It was rocky at first, but eventually she learned her uncle and cousin and learned them well enough to call her cousin ‘sister’ and her uncle simply became known as ‘Hiro’.
At ten she fell off her bike and broke her wrist, resulting in a cast for six weeks. She also, that year, decided to bring a snake in to keep as a pet, which resulted in her sister getting bitten and the snake killed.
Never really having much of a thing for horses like her uncle and sister, Aki enjoyed going and watching her sister and uncle ride, but always declined the offer to ride herself. However, things changed shortly before the move to Blue Ridge and she asked for lessons. After her first lesson, she decided she wanted to keep riding and learning, so now, at Blue Ridge, Akiko hopes to learn the basics of western and English riding and eventually be able to compete like her younger ‘sister’.
We found love in a hopeless place
