Katja grinned as she heard her mother's voice on the other end of the line, "Er ist endlich da?" She shouldn't have known about the horse, technically, the gelding who was to have been her birthday present. However, after some sort of veterinary mix-up, and then another issue at the quarantine facility, had delayed the gelding's travel for over a month, Kai had finally cracked, and Katja had been told. Now, he was finally free, and, if her mother was right, they were about ten minutes away from the farm.
As she'd been about to head to the barns anyway, to bring Mukki in from the pastures, Katja had nothing extra to prepare, and left her room, heading towards the barns, before she turned to wait in front of the White Oak barn. She didn't have to wait long before a horse transport turned into the parking lot, and after checking with the driver, confirmed that it was indeed her horse, Maunz, that was in the back. After helping the driver move the tack trunk and other things into the tack room, or rather, receiving help from him, it was finally time to see Maunz. Of course, she knew the gelding, having ridden him over the summer before she'd left for the States, but they'd left before anything could be settled.
After leading the bay out into the sunlight, Katja took a moment to look him over, smiling, "Na?" She had loved the gelding then, and she loved him now. Of course, the underlying message was clear, and Katja couldn't help but love her parents more for it. Maunz, after all, was only trained in dressage. There was no way that she could diversify her practice with him, as they had wanted her to do for so long with Mukki.
Once she had reassured herself that everything was in order, she saw the driver off, and then kissed to Maunz, leading him out into circuit around the horse part of campus.
