Turn away 'cause I need you more
Personality>> Dan is a very friendly guy, he’s always got a smile for anyone and is extremely happy to share his time with whoever wants it. He doesn’t give out his trust very freely though, it takes a while for anyone to gain it. But when they have, it’s there to stay. As is his loyalty, which makes him an extremely good friend if a person is willing to stick around long enough to earn it. He’s a very caring male and always wants to help if he can. He’s an extremely good listener. People also seem to adore his sense of humour, which can be quite silly but he’s always up for a laugh. He will be sarcastic if annoyed, which is almost like a defence mechanism to him. He’s not one for violence, so uses words instead.
He has a temper though, and it can erupt suddenly. It dies down eventually, but he has to go away and brood for a while before it does so. He doesn’t lash out physically, but he says things that he’ll regret afterwards. Dan is always the first to apologise if he knows he’s been in the wrong, but if he hasn’t he’s a lot more reluctant. Eventually he will though, especially if the other person refuses to do so, as he doesn’t like to be feuding. It makes him extremely uncomfortable.
Though fun loving and friendly, Dan can also be quite shy. He’s a fairly quiet person until you really get to know him, then he becomes considerably louder. Until then, he can be quite bashful and adorable, tripping up over his words if he’s uncomfortable. He used to have a stutter as a child, and it sometimes returns when flustered. He’s also not much of a partier, he’d rather stay in with friends or even study. Yeah, he’s one of those who works extremely hard on his school work. He’s naturally intelligent, but wants to do his best so will choose to stay in and study rather than going out.
Within a relationship, Dan is very faithful. He’s also very honest within a relationship, so as soon as he feels it isn’t working for him, he’ll air his views. He doesn’t want to lead on a girl, and would rather move on if he sees it going nowhere. He’s an affectionate type, and likes to have a lot of physical contact. And he’s very much a cuddler. He doesn’t really take kind to wandering eyes, and could be classed as possessive in some cases, but he’s never violent nor does he verbally attack a girlfriend. He’s an absolute sweetheart really, and there is never a shortage of girls who he’s grabbed the attention of.
Likes>> Dance, Sara, dogs, showing, tropical fruit, travelling and olives.
Dislikes>> Snobs, onions, cats, snow, arguing and sarcasm.
Fears>> Losing Sara or his grandmother and being unable to dance.
Hopes>> To work more with his horses and set up his own stables.
Secrets>> He is terribly terrified of butterflies.
It’s the way I’m feeling I just can’t deny
Appearance>> Daniel is a very handsome male, his dark complexion and warm brown eyes are a fairly eye catching combination, along with his almost soft features that are by no means feminine. He likes to keep his hair extremely short, and it’s cut very close to his head, and almost always has a stubble along his jaw. His form is fairly well muscled, but it's subtle. He's not the tallest, but he's not exactly short at 5'8. His build is fairly lithe, and he is a very agile person and quick on his feet. These qualities come in handy for his love of dancing, and also horse riding too. He’s also extremely flexible, and can contort himself into shapes that shouldn’t be possible. A favourite party trick of his.
His dress sense is fairly indie, he’s not the usual person you would see around horses. He has a complete obsession with cardigans, it’s almost unhealthy the amount of them that he has. He tends to favour button down shirts, and plaid, but it also isn’t rare to see him in a t-shirt. Chino’s are another love of his, as well as jeans, and he also has a vast collection of hats. Mostly beanies. His shoes are of an eclectic taste, varying form converses to high-tops, doc martens to daps. When he dances, he simply sticks to track pants and tank tops. It’s safe to say that there is a fair amount of them too, as well as jodhpurs and various other riding get up. He always looks his best, though it’s not really intentional. He just likes fashion. Dan is also short sighted, so he’s often seen in his glasses which he is pictured with above.
Markings>> A few scars that come with falling over as a child or while dancing.
But I’ve gotta let it go
Medical History>> Sprained his ankles badly a few times and has broken his right wrist twice.
Criminal History>> Caught for vandalism while he was going through a rough patch as well as joyriding when living in Britain.
Full History>> Daniel Wallis was born on the thirtieth of July 1994, his mother sadly died a few weeks later to unknown causes. Daniel’s father, Sergeant James Wallis, was distraught. But he knew that he had to stay strong for his son. So they moved in with Dan’s grandmother and she showered the young boy with the love and attention he had been missing from his mother. At seven though, Daniel’s father went to war. He remained there for the next eight years, occasionally returning on leave but most of his time was spent in Iraq. Dan missed his father terribly, but he knew that his dad’s job was important and that the country needed him.
Daniel never needed for anything, his family was of old money and his grandmother was a very well known woman within the UK as the wife of Tyson Wallis, an accomplished Dressage instructor. Sadly, Daniel’s grandfather passed away before he was born, he’d become a victim of cancer. The estate that Daniel grew up on with his grandmother, and father for a while, was extremely vast and Daniel never grew bored of it. They had a large amount of horses which Dan grew up with, never needing to ask to go riding or to go and play with the horses. They were just there for him. He loved his childhood home more than anything. How couldn’t he?
Dancing came to him when he was just small, his grandmother insisted he had another hobby other than the horses. At first, he resented it. Especially because he was the only boy in his ballet class, outnumbered by a load of giggling girls. Eventually though, he fell in love with it. He begged to take up different styles, finding his forte in hip-hop and obsessing over tap. He hadn’t ever seen his grandmother so proud, nor his father, even when he won his first dressage competition which found him following in the footsteps of his grandfather. Dan only ever wanted to please her, she was his saviour.
When Daniel hit fourteen, he’d just began to teach dance, when tragedy struck his family once again. He can remember the day vividly, two uniformed soldiers were on the other side of the door when he answered. His grandmother seemed to clue in as soon as she saw the soldiers, breaking down on the spot. It needed to be clarified for Daniel, he was confused as to why is strong maternal figure had broken down at just the sight of these two men. The soldiers gently broke the news to him, obviously experienced in doing so. Dan didn’t register the news straight away. Eventually it dawned on him though, about an hour after the soldier’s had left. His father had been killed in war. Dan hadn’t seen him in a year. He never got to say goodbye. Tell him that he loved him one more time. Now he’d lost both of his parents.
Daniel went off the rails for a while after that. And who could blame him? His grandmother fretted, but she understood that he needed to get it out of his system. His straight A grades plummeted for a while, he just didn’t have the energy to turn up to classes or stay long enough to listen to what he had to do. He spent a lot of time with the wrong crowd, gave up the horses for about a year, and rarely stayed at home. Dancing was the only thing that kept him relatively sane, and when his tutor told him that he was going to loose his talent if he didn’t shape up, it all seemed to click back into place. He returned to his second love of horses, and became to boy that his grandmother had brought up. She couldn’t have been happier, and to prove so she bought him Chillie. His grades picked up, his friends were working to keeping him from trouble. Of course, he still missed his father. But he mourned him in a different way now, not through rebellion.
As mentioned before, Dan is a dancer. In fact, he’s a very good dancer. Just too modest to admit so. It’s his passion, he dances almost all the time. It has been something he’s turned to in all of the hardships in his life, and in many ways it has been a saviour for him, especially when he lost his father to the war. It’s something he’s always been able to fall back on, and it’s something he’ll always be grateful for. His favourite style would definitely be hip hop, though he’s classically trained in ballet and also tap. He’s also been teaching since he was fourteen, only now giving up to move to America to continue his education.
Daniel then moved to America, to attend Blue Ridge Academy. Here, he thrived. With two, and then three, horses and his dog Chillie, he enjoyed life immensely. He also managed to get himself a girlfriend, Sara Lyena. During the year or so Dan attended the college, he often found himself travelling back to Britain to check on his grandmother. She has since moved into a home, which has given Dan a little more freedom to be able to come back to the college to become a barn hand since graduating. This allows him to stay close to the girl he loves and continue living at a place he calls home. Blue Ridge is still his favourite place.
We found love in a hopeless place
Pet Name>> Chillie
Registered Name>> n/a
Age>> Four
Species>> Canine
Breed>> Labradoodle
Registry>> n/a
Personality>> Chillie is an extremely mischievous dog, and has always got her nose in something. She also can rarely keep still, she’s always twitching or wandering around. One problem may be the fact that she’s still very young, or the fact that she’s a complete and utter attention seeker. She craves attention from anyone, but mainly Dan. Chillie also adores cuddles, and throws herself at Dan with a demand of having a cuddle as well as her stomach scratched. She’s also a very dramatic dog, sighing deeply and grumbling when annoyed, or squealing with delight when anything pleases her. She also has a very expressive face which highly amuses Dan, he reads her extremely well.
History>> Chillie was bought for Dan as a ‘welcome back’ present by his grandmother, and he can honestly say that she’s the best present he’d ever been given. He fell instantly in love with the adorable canine, and she with him. The young labradoodle has made her way firmly into Dan’s heart and is there to remain. She goes almost everywhere with him, and it hasn’t been unusual for her to be sat in the dance studio with him while he’s practicing, though it’s not often as she is a huge distraction.
