Personality>> Quinn is very determined in everything she does. She hates failing, to the extent where she will do absolutely everything in her power to avoid failing. Despite being nineteen, she's very driven, and as a trainer, expects lots from her students. She's generally good-natured and doesn't easily get angered. Unless she's without coffee. She's very horribly addicted to caffeine, and without her caffeine, she becomes a bitter person. She gets horrible headaches that just won't go away. But as long as she's had at least two cups before noon, she should be okay. When it comes to being supportive for someone who's having a hard time emotionally, she's very awkward. Her family, although supportive, wasn't really the touchy feely type. There wasn't a lot of emotional support, although there was plenty for her dreams. Other than that, she's very friendly and exuberant. She sometimes comes off as rude, but reality is that she really isn't shy. She sarcastic and loves to joke around, but it's part of who she is, and how she was raised.
Likes>> Jumping, hard work, coffee, sun, trail rides, rain, math, physics
Dislikes>> Birds, kids under the age of five, the color pink, bugs, snow, bad attitude, failure, social studies
Fears>> Not having enough coffee, birds, bugs
Hopes>> To have a student ride in a large event of some sort, have a house of her own with a loving husband
Secrets>> When she was about sixteen, she was hanging out with some bad kids who got her to steal a zippo lighter for them. She got caught but because it was her first offence, she got a talking to, and a good scare. Her parents never found out.
Appearance>> Standing at 5'1 and 110lbs, Quinn is anything but big. She's petite and delicate, which is why it shocks people so much when the amount of attitude she has comes out. With natural red hair and bright green eyes, her delicate face and pale skin really stand out. Her tattoo on her ankle is in memory of her papa and her first horse, who were very important in getting to where she is today. Her stance is tall, shoulders pulled back and head held high. She likes to seem as confident as possible so that no one ever doubts her for her petite size. When working with horses, she's always dressed in a polo shirt, jods and tall boots, although when she's in the classroom, she prefers to dress in sundresses and cute outfits.
Markings>> She has a horse shoe tattoo on her left ankle
Medical History>> Other than the odd cold or flu, nothing unusual.
Criminal History>> She's run in with the law a few times, but nothing major. Just as a rambunctious teen
Full History>> Quinn's family has always supported her when it came to accomplishing her goals in life. Whether it was to become a world famous dancer, an Olympic rider, or a physics teacher, they always supported them. But that also meant they pushed her, whether she needed it or not. Although she typically did need it, she never really wanted it. Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Quinn was in the ideal spot for becoming a great rider. Spruce Meadows was held not far from where her parents' acreage was, and before she was even born, her parents went to watch every year. She wasn't even a year old when she went for the first time, and she truly believes that Spruce Meadows is what sparked her passion. There are pictures of her on the back of a horse, being held in the saddle by her parents when she could hardly hold her on head up. She was showing in leadline when she was two years old. Not efficiently, but in the show ring regardless. Little Quinn loved it, and she still does now.
When she was four years old, Quinn got her first official horse. Her parents didn't waste time with a bratty pony. She had ridden plenty of different horses before, but this was finally her own. He was a fourteen year old 15.2hh grey arabian gelding, named Patches. He was her favorite, and she spent hours with him, grooming, riding, and just feeding him handfuls of grass. She had him until he was in his early thirties, although she retired him when he was 25, and she was 15. He taught her everything. He was the first horse she cantered on, jumped on, galloped on, showed with, everything. When he passed away, she got the tattoo on her ankle, in memory of him.
She started showing by herself when she was eight years old, of course on Patches. She showed him in halter showmanship classes, sporthorse classes, and hunter hack. When she was ten, she got a new horse, a large warmblood mare, named Duchess. She was eleven. She started jumping that year, and quickly excelled in the hunter jumper ring, discovering that it was her passion. At the age of twelve, she started showing Duchess in dressage as well, and started doing a tiny bit of cross country. All was well in the horse world. As she aged, she got into eventing, although she preferred hunter jumper to jumpers. Regardless, she continued to show for many years, and never made it to Spruce Meadows, as much as she had wanted to.
School was proving to be a success for Quinn, as she was doing well, working hard, and making friends. She didn't spend much time with her friends outside of school, as she spent every moment out at the barn. Math and science were her favorite subjects in school, as they were all things that were set in concrete. There was no bullshit. It was all formulas, and she liked that. When she got into high school, she realized she had a passion for physics. She loved physics, as it was a mix of math and science together. She excelled in that class, and decided in her grade eleven year that she wanted to be a physics teacher somewhere one day. After high school, she went to university for four years and in those four years, became addicted to coffee. She had it every morning before her classes, as she was trying to balance the university classes as well as riding. After finishing, tried to find a place to teach. She heard of Blue Ridge Riding Academy and became very excited, applying there immediately. She had her mare, Unique, a 16.3hh warmblood mare, and her dog, Dixie, ready to come with her.
Pet Name>> Dixie
Registered Name>> -
Age>> Twelve weeks old
Gender>> Female
Species>> Canine
Breed>> Border collie x bearded collie.
Registry>> -
Personality>> Dixie is very timid and shy with people she doesn't know, and is always glued to Quinn's side. She loves to chew on her chew toys, as any young puppy would, but also loves to chase balls that Quinn throws across the floor, and bring them back to her. She's quite playful when she knows you, and likes to play with other dogs. She's very cuddly and likes to sleep curled up next to Quinn. She learns very quickly and appears to be incredibly intelligent. She's horse savvy and doesn't like to barn much, although she does growl and bark if someone that hasn't been greeted by the people walks in.
History>> There isn't much known about Dixie's history, other than the fact that she and her four brothers were found on the side of the road in a box with their birth date and breed written on it by Quinn when she was on a trail ride with some friends. Dixie was the only girl. They were rushed to the vet and cared for by Quinn until they were eight weeks old, at which point the four boys were rehomed. The vet was shocked that they had survived, but he assumed that they weren't out there for long before they were found. Quinn chose to keep Dixie as she was the most shy, and the only female in the litter. Dixie has lived with Quinn since and is to stay at Blue Ridge with her.
