Fox stretched slowly as he watched Sherbet walk leisurely across the pasture, the palomino draft seeking out a place where she could contently doze the day away. Fox shook his head fondly, knowing that if he'd left her in her stall for the day, she'd do the same. At least out here, she had the chance of another horse urging her to play. He doubted it would work though. Watching the mare for a little while longer, the brunet male then turned and walk down to White Oak barn where his other horse, Bionic, resided. His arms swung loosely at his side as he walked, whistling the tune of a mindlessly popular song he'd heard on the radio this morning. The male looked happy. It wasn't often that he looked any different. He was so pleased to be back at the academy. Ridiculously so.
Fox made sure that Bionic heard his approach, smiling as the gelding nickered softly from inside his stall. He did not look out, as he was not a fan of strangers so he simply waited for his owner to come to him. "Do you want to go out today, boy?" He asked the gelding quietly, the usual Fox a lot more reserved with the nervous thoroughbred. Bionic, pleased to see the boy that brought him food, lipped at the collar of the checked shirt Fox was wearing. "I'll take that as a yes. I'm going to groom you first though." He explained, taking a carrot out of his back pocket and handing it to the horse before pulling away to go and collect his grooming kit from his locker.
Unlike his usual approach of grooming the chestnut in his stall, Fox decided it was time to get Bionic out on the cross ties. It wouldn't be a new experience for the horse, but it wasn't one of his favourites. However, if he used the furthest one, he doubted many people would approach. Plus, the barn seemed to be heavily populated by girls today, a species Bionic was more relaxed around. Sliding the purple head collar onto the horse, he led the brute over to the cross ties slowly. They did not rush at all, Fox allowing Bionic to go at his own pace. Murmuring soft encouragement to the gelding, they eventually reached the cross ties. Clipping Bionic in, Fox smiled as the horse looked mostly relaxed. His audits were still perked, swivelling like a radar, but his expression was open. He didn't look very nervous at all. Reaching into his bag, Fox pulled out the curry comb and began to work on Bionic's mane, talking to the horse quietly as he worked.
