Registered Name>> A&C Remembrance
Barn Name>>Twinkie
Age>>6
Sex>>Gelding
Breed>>Irish Draught
Breed Registry>>IDHSNA
Coat Colour>>Bay
Stable Colour>>Evergreen
Height>>17.1H
Personality>> Fluffy on the outside, soft and gooey on the inside, sugar sweet and wildly popular--there's a reason his barn name is Twinkie. Twinkie is the epitome of what you would expect from an Irish Draught. Athletic, absurdly so, given their size, but incredibly level headed and even tempered. Little phases the six year old gelding, despite being relatively green in the show ring. He tries his heart out, springing around the ring like a Thoroughbred instead of a Draught horse, but needs a lot of guidance up to jumps to help control his enormous body. Twinkie doesn't get too frustrated in the ring, showing more patience for Kiah than any horse has a right to. After only six months, the two are still learning one another's quirks and buttons, focusing more on building a relationship than taking jumps.
Caution Around>> Candy. Seriously. He will pin you to the wall and root it out of your pockets. He is also inexplicably terrified of goats.
Basic History>> Out of the imported Mountain Pearl and Diamond Shuttle, Twinkie was bred to be big, bold and beautiful. He was foaled on a small farm in South Carolina where Hezekiah worked for several years. Kiah was there at the time of foaling, halter training the baby Twinkie and christening him with his barn name after feeding him his first creme filled confection. Several years went by while Kiah began showing regularly, still close friends with Twinkie's owner and stopping by now and again for clinics and to say hello. Twinkie was started on groundwork at two, a horse his size needing to learn proper manners and early. At four he started under saddle, and after a year and a half was sold to Kiah to begin rebuilding his career after his accident and selling his mounts. Still green, Twinkie is going round wonderfully in the hunter ring, having a natural balance unusual for such a large beast. Kiah has started him in jumpers and cross country, but is yet to show in either class.
