He is quite sensitive to the energy of his rider, quick to react to any subtle change of mood. He has an easy going demeanor. He likes being around other horses and seems to be a natural leader. His only fault is that he doesn't seem to like the sound of plastic or paper bags. The sound causes him to bolt, immediately. He is extremely sensitive to loud, sudden noises. As long as his rider is moves carefully around him, he's a wonderful companion and works hard those around him.
Caution Around>> Plastic or paper bags, sudden noises like sirens, thunder, banging, etc.
Basic History>> Born into a breeding stable in North Carolina, Monty had great potential from day one. The stable also dabbled in training show horses. Monty's sire was well rounded in several disciplines and the stable manager paid a pretty penny to stud him. His dam had her own share of ribbons, so the pedigree looked promising. Monty was rather unique from the start. He wasn't as energetic as other foals, but he got along well enough. They put him into training at two and started showing him at three. He looked to have the prowess for jumping that his sire had. Monty did well and brought the stable much revenue, but as time went on they found they couldn't keep him. It was around that time that Theodore's father put in a request for a horse suitable for his son. After extensive searches, he had found Monty and immediately contacted the stable. Monty was brought to the Knight's stable at the age of five. He was placed into training once more and was used to teach Theodore how to ride. Putting the gelding's potential to good use, he continued training in Show Jumping. They showed him a few times once Theodore got better at riding. Then two years later he was sent with Theodore to Blue Ridge Academy. Theodore planned to keep him in jumping, but wanted to start in Cross Country, so the gelding is learning just as much as his rider at the Academy.
