Personality>> Murphy is one of those ponies that is advertised as "not for beginners" and "forward but not strong". He can never get enough of running around and is always down for being taken for a gallop, however when it comes to getting his head down he's more likely to head straight for the gate. He also seems to reason that his non stop attitude means he can eat constantly. Murphy will always use his strength to his advantage especially if food is involved, and he will knock down anyone who stands between him and his feed bucket. Other than that, Murphy is a dream to handle on the ground, good for the farrier and vet (provided there's a haynet) and excellent at giving cuddles. He can form strong attachments to his "neigh"bours and field friends, and has issues with being left alone in the stable or field. Some call him demanding, bratty and nasty. Some would call him sweet and fizzy.

Basic History>> Murphy was bred up in Scotland from prestigious lines and sold onto a lady in the North, who showed him as a youngster, showered with sashes and trophies from his 2 seasons (one inhand and one ridden) he was given a year to be hacked gently and munch his share of grass and mature into himself. Unfortunately his talent for helping his owner hit the deck began to take it's toll, and on one ride he managed to get her off on a trail due to an unexpected attempt to race the wind and she was badly injured. Afraid, she gave him to a trekking centre, where he wasted away for a few months, unrideable due to his strength, until a new lady looking for a Highlander fell in love with him and bought him. His return to the show ring helped Murphy thrive again, and when Eleanor began to ride him they clicked well with their non stop personalities. He still manages to get her off every now and then, but he is in a happier place than he was at the trekking centre and truly in his element.
