Sleepily Epona shuffled around the kitchen in the apartment that her brother and her shared as she made breakfast for both of them. The smell would wake her brother as it often did back home the rare times when she was up before him. Without even thinking she snacked on the bacon as she cooked the breakfast of eggs, bacon, biscuits, and gravy. After she had finished with making breakfast and ate her part of it, she knocked on her brother's door to let him know as she shuffled into her room to get ready for the day. Dressed in her normal boots that she wore every day, what seemed like the same pair of jeans but cleaner, a gray t-shirt, and a cameo hoodie over her shirt was what she picked to wear. Her red hair pulled up into a ponytail with it hanging out of her baseball cap that worked for blocking light from her eyes.

"I'll see you on the trail Kev. You promised me a morning ride and it's beautiful out today and I'm sure Scar Lit will love a nice ride with Mid." She said as she patted her brother's shoulder with a smile before she grabbed her bottle of water and left to go get her Midnight ready for an early morning trail ride. Her feet leading her the path to the barn at a brisk pace as she wasn't a morning person and didn't want to risk talking with anyone until after she had gotten to see her horse. Entering the barn she went to her mare with a soft smile and said "Hello girl, lets get going." Going to the track room she grabbed her grooming kit and saddle before she went back to her horse's stall.

Slipping in she placed the saddle on the stall door and set the kit down next to the door before she petted the black mare who had butted her head against her. With a soft laugh she rubbed her mare's head and neck before she produced an alfalfa cube and offered it to her mare, who quickly ate it. Clipping the rope to her mare she tied her up and started to groom her, slowly she was learning how to do things that didn't seem completely crazy to the students and other staff of the school and get into their rules and safety ways. It wasn't what she normally did back home but she made an effort to at least try not to get kicked out of the school for not following their rules with how the horses should be handled and the safety rules they had in place.

Once she was done with the grooming, she saddled her mare up and clipped on the reins as she knew her mare didn't take the bit yet and was still learning it. But she lead the mare outside before she swung up onto her horse's back and started for the trails, pausing to decide which trail to take before she started down the one that was most like home, the Rocky Ridge Trail. Although she lingered close to the start of it until she saw her brother heading her way before she let Mid start going down the trail at a walk. After all she hadn't been on that trail before and knew that Mid didn't gallop unless on a trail they both knew.

The smell of the food woke him but he stayed in bed a little longer, at least until he heard the knock on his door then he was up and in the kitchen to eat. As normal he ate while not really knowing what he ate, not that he had to worry as he knew his sister wasn't a bad cook or would make anything too weird without having told him first. But as he was nearing the end of the food he heard his sister's words and gave a nod despite having forgotten about it. After he had finished his food he cleaned up the kitchen and then went to get dressed in a pair of jeans and a button up long sleeve shirt with a jean jacket over it and a cowboy hat that was on his head. Not that he ever went anyplace without his hat unless he had to take it off in buildings but as he mostly stuck to the barns, he was never without it.

Heading down to the barn after pulling on his boots, he made his way to his mare's stall and gave her a treat before he went to get the track. As he picked up his track he grabbed a brush from his grooming kit to use on his mare quickly, as he had given her a good groom the night before and knew not much was needed done for that morning. With a quick once over with the brush he murmured to her softly before he put the blanket over her back, then followed with the saddle. As he fasten the cinches, Scar Lit turned her head to watch him before she nuzzled at his pocket for a treat that she could smell. Chuckling Kevin produced an alfalfa cube and let his mare have it before he finished saddling her up and led her out of the stall heading towards the open air.

Once outside he mounted and headed for the direction that he saw his sister head when he was on the way to the barn. A yawn escaped his lips as he let Scar Lit watch where they went for a few seconds until they got to the trail, egging her up to a trot to catch up with Midnight and his siter. "Oi Pona, must you have picked this trail this early in the morning?" He asked when he caught up to her and just shook his head at the nod from his sister and had to grin back at her. As Kevin had an idea of what to expect on the trail from a past trail ride and the information he gotten from the lady who rode with him, he knew his sister wasn't gonna be her bright self until after she gotten woke up.
