Full History>> Ailsa grew up on a farm outside of Dumfries, Scotland. She was always only a few steps behind her older brother, Will. From the age of two, she was riding, and by the time she was ten, she was competing in show jumping.
When she was 23, she was taking art classes online so she could get a degree without leaving the happy comfort of her parents' farm. However, that was put on hold for a while when the barn caught fire due to the carelessness of a hired worker. The whole family rushed to save the horses. Ailsa was holding on to one of their larger horses when the animal panicked, knocking her off her feet. Part of the building fell on her, crushing her leg beyond repair.
She woke up in the hospital and started a year of depression and hopelessness. It was a struggle to re-learn how to walk, but finally she pulled out of the depression and even started taking classes again. By the time she had her degree, she insisted on moving out. She wanted a fresh start. Her brother and her parents were so against it that they ended up having a falling out. Ailsa took everything she had and moved to America.
She heard Blue Ridge was hiring an art teacher and did some research. The school looked good enough for her and her horse to move in, not to mention her precious dog. She applied for the job and was pleasantly surprised to learn that she got it.

His favorite thing is to sleep on the bed with Ailsa.
History>> He was born in America. Ailsa's brother bought him from a breeder when he was just a puppy. He wanted to get her a large, intimidating dog that would actually be very sweet to her. It turned out to be the right thing to do; the sight of a black and tan puppy made her feel better every day. As he grew, she taught him tricks. He got used to sharing the bed with her. She hadn't bothered to register him until they moved to America together.
