Personality>> Misty is a sweet-tempered horse with a huge amount of patience who just loves people. She often doesn't get on so well with other horses, however, especially stallions and geldings. Misty largely ignores foals, and is generally a rather solitary horse. Her favourite discipline is showjumping, and she can get a little excited when faced with a line of poles. This can cause her to become somewhat frisky, speeding up and dancing around, although she will quickly calm down again. As long as the rider can keep their cool for those few minutes, she will behave extremely well and make a very good mount.
Caution Around>> Flapping objects
Basic History>> Misty originally belonged to and was trained by a British expatriate living in Spain; however the woman made the decision after two years to return to the UK, and so she was sold on to a Spanish riding school, where she was used for six months in high-level showjumping sessions, as well as being loaned out for a few competitions. She might well have spent the rest of her life there, were it not for the fact that the school was hit badly by a fall in business and eventually had to close down and sell off their horses. Misty made her way through a complex series of horse dealers and auctions to Britain, where Kate bought her aged 3. The two went through many competitions together, both showjumping and dressage, and it was with Misty that Kate first discovered her love of driving. When she accepted the position at Blue Ridge, there was no question about it; Misty was coming with her.
