Personality>> Cocky, arrogant, stuck up and full of himself; those words pretty much sum up Mika.
While not coming from an excessively wealthy family, this young man believes that he should be a class much higher than he is living in, which probably comes from being spoiled rotten, and so acts like a spoiled rich kid. If you ever need to find him, look for the largest group of people and he's normally in the middle of it.
Once you get past his tough exterior, Mika has a sensitive side and is very protective toward his family, and the few who manage to get close to him, and will doing anything in his power to make sure those people are safe. And he is fiercely loyal to those he cares about, but it is advised not to do anything to jepordise that loyalty, as you don't want to get on his bad side. He won't physically hurt another person, but he will make sure you remember not to cross him again.

Watched as another rider adjusted a spread jump to intentionally injure the horse of another rider so that they couldn't compete. And when the plan worked, Mika never spoke up about it because he didn't want to get blamed.
Appearance>> Tall, dark and handsome, Mika isn't afraid to show off his good looks to others.
A few inches shorter than six feet, he doesn't let this get him down, as he knows that his brown hair and eyes are enough of an attraction, and having washboard abs from surfing and working in a stable helps too. Dropping in to the conversation that he did some modelling also works well as a good calling card.
Being a native to Hawaii he is more comfortable in shorts and a sleeveless t-shirt than he is trousers and polos, but he knows that he needs to wear the fancy stuff when competing - but doesn't stop him from wearing shorts and half chaps when riding around for fun!

Full History>> After a whirlwind romance, Lieutenant Kai Ellison married the love of his life,and Shyla couldn't be happier. A year later she discovered that she was pregnant, while her husband was on deployment. She was thankful that he returned right before their son Mikala was born, and Kai said that there was something in the infant's eyes that had told him the boy's middle name should be that of a trickster god, and Shyla laughingly agreed.
For the first year of his life, Mika didn't get to see very much of his father, not in person anyway, but he got to see him on a computer screen, and this was how Shyla told her husband that they were expecting their second child. His family was his mother, the computer and the people in the military base where they lived, as Shyla had been an only child and her elderly parents had died years earlier. And Kai had lost his entire family in the September 11 terrorist attacks.
Life took an unexpected turn for the worse later that year when there was a knock on the door and a man in a uniform like his father's stood there and spoke to his mother, the next thing he knew they were on their way to the hospital and Mika was left in a room full of toys. The shock of her husband's death had but the woman in shock, leading to her going into early labour, and she bled out on the table, leaving two children now orphaned.
Not knowing how to handle the way his world had been turned upside down, and he handled it the best way a toddler could, he threw tantrums at the drop of a hat. The orphanage couldn't find any families that wanted both of the children so Mika went one way and the infant the other.
Six foster families later, three year old Mika found himself in the home of the Palakiko family. Anakoni and Malia had been married for many years and after she had struggled to carry a baby to full term, the couple decided that their house needed children and decided to foster. It was after Mika joined their household, and had become part of their family, they discovered that the boy was available for adoption and they quickly applied.
Maybe it was because he was adopted, maybe it was because he was an only child, or even both, but Mika was spoiled rotten. No matter what he wanted, all he had to do was demand it and it was handed to him. He had all the latest personal game systems, and the games to go with them. All the latest clothes.
He learned to surf as soon as his father could get him into the water and it was when he was seven that, after watching people riding down the beach, he wanted to ride horses, as well as waves. While his parents did not give into his demands to have his own horse, as the stable he was riding at had plenty of horses he could borrow, they didn't scrimp on anything else and bought him everything else he'd need. And it was while he was hanging out in the barn with some of his riding friends that they were scouted by a modeling agency and he started modelling.
A friend of the family had been comparing photos of their facebook friends and couldn't get over the similarities between Mika and the adopted daughter of their other friend. After lawyers were contacted and the closed adoptions looked into. As he had only been a baby himself at the time of their parents death, Mika had no memories of how they had died, or that he even had a sister, so it came as a bit of a shock when the Hanson family, from Alaska of all places, got in contact with his parents and his family very quickly doubled in size. He didn't feel any anger toward the family that took his sister for not also taking him, he was old enough and ugly enough to work out that taking on two kids would be a lot harder than one, especially when one of them, him, would have also been grieving the loss of his mother.
Since they lived so far away, both sets of parents worked on how they could allow the siblings to get to know each other, and it turned out that their shared love of horses would be the key to unite the pair as the Palakiko's applied to Blue Ridge Riding Academy in Kentucky, and when he was accepted, he couldn't wait to get on the plane.
