Oliver walked into the cafeteria and picking up a tray from the pile by the entrance, he took his place at the back of the line of students already waiting to fill their trays. He wasn't exactly popular so he didn't have anyone waiting for him to sit down, but he wasn't a loner either so he glanced around to see if he could spot anyone he knew that he could sit with. Shifting his attention to the board behind the food counters, his face lit up when he read that the food being offered today had a Mexican theme to is. If there was one kind of food this teen could live on, it would have to be Mexican.
He followed the line as the students moved forward and before too long, he was at the counters and ready to make his selection. He had been looking forward to getting to where he now was, but now that he was here, his mouth just dropped open. He couldn't believe the amount of food that was there. "Are you feeding all of Blue Ridge?" He asked the woman standing there. He gave her an impish grin when the woman gave him a non-committal stare and gestured toward the food, waiting to know what he wanted. "Right, can I please have some nachos, refried beans and, some corn and chile succotash." He grinned as what he asked for was placed on his tray, the last two things put into the same serving dish. "Thanks. Can you please also add a bottle of Coke to that." He gave her another smile before she could say anything. "I promise that I'll grab a bottle of chocolate milk on my way past." He knew that the flavoured milk was supplied for the students as part of a "nutritional plan" that they had been doing all over the states since... forever.
After he'd swiped his student card through the machine - the school's new way of keeping track of which students frequented the café and which didn't - he walked over to the seating area. Still unable to find anyone to sit with, as it was still early in the lunch hour, he settled himself down at owe of the large circular tables and opened his bottle of fizzy drink. After taking a drink, he looked up as a shadow fell over the table.
