Personality>> Finley is stubborn. He hates to be bossed around or told he does things wrong, and sometimes he'll do things his way, even if it's not the best way. Fin has a quick temper, one that doesn't serve him well in many situations. If pressed, he'll turn quickly to violence and he's been in more than his fair share of physical confrontations. In contrast, though, he actually hates to be angry. It's an emotion that scares Finley and he tries his best to avoid it. Fin, despite his rough exterior, actually suffers from social anxiety. He over-compensates for his unease and often seems overly loud or friendly when he's really dying inside. Fin is very gentle with horses or those who seems like they need help. Around horses, his confidence isn't fake. With equines is one of the few times that Fin feels at ease with himself. There's something about his quiet confidence and gentle demeanor that leads to most horses liking his feel. Combine that with his quiet hands and still seat, Fin is quite an accomplished rider. Fin gets along best with those who hurt, for some reason. Most of his best friends have been those who suffer from anxiety or depression. Perhaps it's connected to his talent with horses - Fin seems to be a friend to the lost, perhaps because he himself is lost.
Likes>>
Thunderstorms - there's something about an oncoming storm that puts Fin on edge. They scare him, but in a good way. The wind and rain just make Finley feel alive.
Dogs - Fin has an unconditional love for all dogs. He loves anything from miniature poodles to great danes, it really doesn't matter.
The Sky - It's not uncommon to see Fin sneak outside late at night, just to watch the night sky.
Blankets - Fin can't sleep without them. Also, he's convinced no movie is complete without a good blanket. He's been known to carry them into the theater before.
Polo Wraps - He's got a strange obsession with them, and owns way too many pairs. He loves the different patterns they come in.
Dislikes>>
Spoiled Horses - Fin understands wanting to take care of your horse. He gets why someone would treat their horse. But he cannot stand bratty, spoiled horses. Usually he does his best just to grit his teeth and ignore them though. But anyone who majorly spoils their horse will have a tarnished view in Fin's mind.
Cold Weather - After living in such a warm place for all his life, Fin's pretty intolerant to cold weather. Anything under about 30 degrees Fahrenheit is, to Finley, unreasonable.
Horror Movies - Fin watched one once, and didn't sleep for a week. He has no interested in being scared for "fun".
Cats - which seems ironic, seeing as though Fin owns one. However, he's made an exception for Blue. That's it though, otherwise Fin scorns cats.
Sleeping - Fin sees it as a waste of time. Why sleep when you could read or watch tv or look at the sky? There are plenty of nights that go by with Fin getting only the bare minimum of rest.
Fears>>
Cars, Airplanes, Trucks, Trains, etc. - Fin is extremely anxious in any form of transportation, pretty much. He can stand cars (he doesn't have much of a choice), although he's always on edge in them and there's no chance of him really relaxing. Airplanes, trucks, or other forms are not an option, though. He's been known to have rather severe panic attacks when forced to ride on them.
Small Spaces - He's claustrophobic, so tight spots aren't a fun experience. He avoids small spaces at all costs, there was an unfortunate incident just a month ago that ended up with Fin passing out.
Hopes>>
Fin hopes to someday conquer his fear of vehicles. It's inconvenient, and frankly embarrassing.
He hopes to someday tame a mustang and take it from wild to pet.
Fin would love to have a family someday, he dreams of having a kid or two.
He would also love to move back to Puerto Rico someday and live here permanently.
Secrets>>Fin keeps his fears secret, they're not something he's proud of.
While it isn't a strict secret - his parents know and it could be easily found out - Fin doesn't talk at all about the accident that killed his best friend Anne. It's not something that he brings up or that he will engage in conversation about. He tries to forget it, but the aftermath of it still haunts Fin.
Fin constantly wears a thin leather bracelet with a small bronze plate that reads out "A.L.C.", the initials of his friend Anne. He refuses to explain it the bracelet to anyone or take it off.
Appearance>>Fin's heritage is african american and mexican, and his skin tone reflects that. He's actually often mistaken for a girl because of his small and slim stature. Fin only stands at 5'5", and his build is lean. He's not underweight, but there certainly isn't any extra weight on him. He's not very muscular either. Finley's face is dusted with freckles, and his eyes are a deep brown. His hair is several shades lighter than his eyes, and a little longer than most other boys' styles. It's most common to see Fin in simple clothes. On a typical day, he's usually wearing black (a bit too skinny) jeans, a white tank top, and his favorite black jacket. He does have a love for converse shoes and often his red shoes will be the only splash of color on his attire.
Markings>>Like any other equestrian, Fin has had his fair share of bumps and bruises. However, he only has two main markings. He has somewhat extensive scarring on his left ribcage, as well as a small dark birthmark along his spine.
Medical History>> Fin's only had two major injuries. The first came from the fateful car wreck that killed Anne. Fin's left ribcage is rather heavily scarred from the incident. At the time he'd broken several ribs and had glass impale itself along his ribs as well. It's something that Fin is self-conscious of and attempts to keep covered up if possible.
Fin's second major injury was when he broke his ankle two years ago, it was the result of a bad throw from a horse. It's healed nicely, however, and there's no sign that he ever injured it now.
Fin's also been diagnosed with ptsd from the car wreck and attended therapy for about two years regarding it.

Fin was born in Puerto Rico to Mary and Levi June, neither of whom were natives to that country. It was where Fin lived for the first 14 years of his life though, and where his heart and ultimate allegiance remains. Fin had a pretty normal life, up until 13. His parents were gone a lot for work, which left Fin to his own devices. He started riding young, and spent most of his time at the barn. At 10 years old, he made friends with a girl from his neighborhood named Anne, and the two became fast friends.
Fin started competing in three-day eventing young, and soon made a good name for himself in the local circuits. He always had horses at his disposal because of his parents wealth, and with his first show pony Fin was able to compete aggressively.
It was at 13 that Fin's life took a downward twist. Anne's brother was driving her and Finn to the movies when they got into a horrific accident. Anne didn't survive, the brother was in the hospital in a coma for two months, and Fin was left trying to put together the pieces of his life. Because of the concussion that he suffered during the accident though, he has very little memory of the actual wreck or the following week.
It was soon after that Fin's parents decided to move to America. Fin settled into his new home ok, started working the show circuits. However, he never really seemed to make meaningful friends, and started getting into fights. His parents, concerned, decided to send Fin to Blue Ridge. If there was anywhere that Fin would be happy, it would be Blue Ridge.

Personality>> Blue is a definite cat. She's moody and unpredictable, and she has a specific hate towards females for some reason. She's extremely affectionate towards Fin, but left alone around other people she will climb to the tallest place she can and jump on people's heads. It's extremely terrifying. Blue is terrified of dogs. She has an adorable kitten mew despite being full-grown.
History>> Blue has no special history. She was bred to be a pet and sold to Fin when she was still a kitten. He's owned her since then, and the two have grown to have a bit of a bond. At least, she seems to like him ok and not want to kill him, which is more than can be said about most other humans.
