Personality>> Rose is very, very smart. Unfortunately, she's smart to the point of devious. Her stall has to have special safe-guards to keep her in, because Rose knows how to open most standard locks. Once free, the appaloosa mare enjoys leading those who try to catch her on a wild chase all around property. She's got a pretty positive attitude towards most things, the most common expression on Rose's face is one of interest. For some reason, she really hates women. Any lady that walks by her beware, Rose will come for you with bared teeth. She can be rather nasty on the ground if she's frustrated, it's not uncommon to see her biting her handlers just for fun.
Rose in an unexciting, but fun horse under saddle. She knows her job and knows it well, at this point there's no surprises with her. She's got very clean movements while jumping and doing dressage, and usually gets ranked high in the show ring. Her weakness is her lead changes, while Rose will do them it usually includes a lot of pinned ears and a swishing tail. When dressage schooling, Rose will sometimes balk or crow kick when she's bored. Because she's so smart, the appaloosa mare gets tired of repeating the same exercises over and over. Diversity is key to riding this horse - the more boring a task is, the more she's likely to throw a fit about it. She does seem to love jumping, during cross-country she can get a little strong and forward, but nothing unmanageable.
Caution Around>> women, be sure to shut her into enclosures securely
Basic History>> Fin and Rose have been a team for quite some time. He's owned the mare for close to 4 years now, and at this point they know each other well. Before she came to Fin, Rose was trained and shown by a well-known farm. She's not experienced much trauma in her life, and has been handled for the most part in a good way. She's actually just come back to Fin after being leased out for a year while he focused on training and riding a couple younger horses for his trainer. However, Fin wanted Rose to be the horse that he took to Blue Ridge.
She's a little grumpier and more devious than normal, the young rider that was leasing her for the year was less strict than Fin. She's also a little out of practice in the show-jumping ring as that wasn't a main priority for the kid.
