Anne rested one hand on Captain's neck as she sat back and watched Jennifer's round with a critical eye. They made a pretty good time and went over all of the jumps (some more than once) but in her opinion, they had been taking a few of the turns just a little on the wide side, and while that might be fine in some types of competitions, if one trusted one's horse to avoid dropping fences then one could get away with cutting things much more sharply. And for Anne and Captain, speed had always been key. "Challenge accepted." the brunette smiled, and with a light touch to Captain's side, the two were away. Straight into canter, no messing around, and then the two seemed to fly over the first three. She differed from Jen here by turning sharply left to take a couple of singles, before curving down to take a pair and then another triple. Every corner was cut close, and speed was maintained throughout, barely slowing on the turns and taking almost every jump perfectly. And as they jumped Anne counted each one to ensure that she was only going over each one once. Avoiding Jen's mistake. Finally, both panting and out of breath, the two returned to where Jennifer sat on her own horse. Anne brushed a hair from her face. "I'm sorry, I wasn't timing... do you have any idea?"

Jennifer walked Spot only long enough that the mare wouldn't tie up, then paused to watch Anne's ride. They would be moving soon enough anyway, she'd cool the mare off properly once the 'competition' was over.
She raised an eyebrow at some of Anne's choices, but it worked for the pair, since they ran a clean round. As Anne returned, Jen frowned, "I think I have to conceded defeat. You and Captain make quite the formidable team!" She smiled, "Very nicely done, very impressive ride." She wasn't (too) miffed about losing - It had been a possibility from the start.
She asked Spot to walk, "I should down Spot so I can get on that work." She smiled at that, "That's what I get."
