Personality>> Talyn seems to think she's invulnerable. The freshman has an insane amount of confidence, enough often come off as intimidating. Talyn isn't scared of much - she faces crowds, spiders, heights, and other common fears with a shrug and a grin. She isn't much scared of authority or rules either. She's not afraid at all to break the rules if it seems like it might be fun. Talyn is outgoing and rambunctious, she always seems to have a crazy scheme brewing. She finds pranking hilarious and has pulled a few of her own. The rainbow haired girl approaches her equine habits with the same abandon as the rest of her life - there's been precious few times that Tayn has been scared of a horse. Because of her toughness and exuberance, she always seems to ride the animals no one else wants to.
Talyn's very outgoing, although that's not to say that she makes friends easily. It takes a special kind of person to keep up with her. She flirts with about anything that breathes, but has never kept a relationship more than a week or so. What else can you really expect from a fourteen year old anyway? Talyn isn't very sensitive to other's emotions, and will sometimes bulldoze right into a sensitive topic without even realizing she makes others uncomfortable. She hardly ever gets in fights with others though, and generally tries to keep the peace. It's very hard to get through to Talyn's emotions, which is good when dealing with unkind peers but unfortunate if a teacher is trying to get her to understand the importance of a test or grade.

Talyn once tried drugs and got high. It was terrifying and she's vowed never to do it again, but now and again she finds herself wishing for the feeling just one more time.
Appearance>>Talyn stands at 5'4", although it's likely she'll grow another 3 or 4 inches in the next couple years. Her hair is naturally a russet brown, but she dyes it regularly in a rainbow mixture. Her eyes are large and expressive, their color is an unusual color that's most easily described as nearly gold. Her skin is fairly pale, although she usually has a decent tan from being out in the sun so much.
Talyn's style fluctuates greatly, she wears a large variety of clothing. It's most likely to see her in ripped jeans and a trendy top, but really it's not unusual to see Talyn in anything from sundresses to overalls. When riding, Talyn normally wears crisp riding pants (often in more exotic colors such as blue or grey) and either a polo, hoodie, or tank top depending on the weather. Talyn has little concern about her own "modesty" and sees no problem having exposed bra straps, short jeans, or other "revealing" clothing - this can bring her into some confrontation with the school faculty at times.

Full History>>Talyn was the third and last child born to Jodie and Dan Waits. Her brothers, Cameron and Connor, were twins born four years before her. However,
Cameron never made it to four years as he was born with a serious heart malfunction. When she was born, Talyn was given her brother's name as her second middle name. Their family doesn't talk a lot about Cameron, but it was never a forbidden subject, just a sad one. Talyn was never much affected by that tragedy, but it's something that she's always had to live in the memory of.
When she was seven years old, another tragedy struck her family. Both her mother and father were tragically killed in an airplane crash, of all things. Both Connor and Talyn were away at their grandparents' house at the time. The two kids were adopted officially by their grandparents. Talyn was too young to fully understand what had happened, but the accident left Connor scarred. Her big brother attempted suicide four times between the ages of 11 and 16. Living with such a depressed and hurting brother left Talyn struggling to stay positive. She took solace in her grandparents' horses, and spent all of her time with the majestic equines. When she was eleven, Talyn received her first horse,
the grumpy Buttercup. Dealing with the angry mare left Talyn realizing she loved working with bad horses, and she ended up buying 4 horses in just 2 years. Three of them she managed to train up and sell to a good home, and the fourth became a therapy horse of sorts for her brother. When Talyn learned of Blue Ridge, she begged to go. Her grandparents gave in, and Talyn started packing her bags for the greatest adventure yet.
