"I will offer you Manhattan's, but I doubt it will fit comfortably." Ezra offered, gesturing to the saddle still perched on the fence. "And, of course, I'll assist in clear up." He assured the boy. He didn't set up the course, but he hadn't been shy in using it. Leaving Seth to clean it up alone would be extremely improper. Ezra decided Manhattan was cooled down enough and slid from the gelding's back. He chuckled when Manhattan chose to shook once Ezra had dismounted this time. "Your timing is improving." He commended the horse.
"I can meet you back here in 10 for clean up." He told Seth. "And then you can let me know what you're planning to help me neglect that homework." Ezra smirked. It appeared Seth had something in mind to keep him occupied and Ezra wouldn't mind being part of it. He looked up at Manhattan. "Ready dude? Let's get you back to the grey hellion." He grinned, referring to his other mount. He loved her really, she was just still testing every inch of Ezra's patience.

Seth shook his head before the other had finished his words. Sure if Bear had been his own he probably would have chanced it, but he couldn't risk the welfare of a school horse, heave forbid he got banned from riding. His father would have him whisked away from here faster than he could say hold my horse. His eyebrows arched at the comment about helping to clean up, as that he wasn't expecting. "Thanks." He replied.
He nodded, ten minutes would give him plenty of time to groom the dunskin and take him out to the pastures. "See you in ten." He said with a grin as he led the gelding toward the barn, taking their time so to make sure the gelding was properly cooled off before he was completely abandoned, though it wasn't like he was just going to leave the horse cooped up in his stall.
After a quick groom and the horse was out in the pasture, Seth returned to the arena and began taking the jumps apart. He'd always found it easier to dismantle the fences, stacking all the poles on the ground and then put the standards away and the poles just because they were the lightest things to carry. "What tactics do you normally use to avoid homework?" He asked with a grin. "And take it from me; the excuse of the horse ate my homework, is completely overused here... and more often than not, truth."

Ezra nodded, expecting the shake of Seth's head. Ezra's manners taught him to offer anyway. He then chuckled at the surprise on the other boy's face. "You're welcome." He readied Manhattan to leave, nodding once more when Seth agreed to meet him in 10 minutes. He led Manhattan out of the arena, took him to the barn to quickly run a brush over the beast and the took him to the pastures. He watched for a moment as his two horses interacted, Trick with her ears pinned against her neck and Manhattan was calling to her eagerly. The big gelding didn't flinch as Trick spun on her heels and flicked them out to strike at him. She missed, Ezra was sure that was intentional, and then the pair settled to graze side by side. Ezra smiled, turning and making her way back to the arena.
Seth was already back when Ezra returned, and he quickly started to help the other boy. He looked up when Seth spoke, chuckling slightly. Ezra thought for a moment. A year ago, the answer would have been simple. The gym. He eyed Seth, then shrugged. "I guess I don't have a strategy, currently." Ezra answered. Sure, he ran but that wasn't to avoid homework. He hung out with the few people he liked at the academy. But no set distraction. "What about you?" He asked, hauling another pole to stack onto the pile.

As he put the stands away, Seth wondered why he had used so many jumps, but then decided not to question his own stupidity, or the fact that he was now being lazy. His eyebrow arched as his question was returned to him and he gave a cheeky smile. "Depends on how I'm feeling." He replied evasively. "Pretty much, I make myself very hard to find." Unless of course, he decided to throw gummy bears at poor unsuspecting students who were under the tree he was sitting in. "I like climbing. Trees, cliffs, buildings, billboards..." A smile played at his lips. "My mother thinks I'm part monkey. Dad... well, he's trying to work out where he went wrong with me."
He stretched his back out once everything was away, pleased that they weren't responsible for also raking the arenas.

Seth's cryptic reply caused a brow to shoot up. He regarded the boy with a look of confusion. Was this the boy's way of informing Ezra that he was a hide and seek champion? His expression smoothed into one of amusement when Seth explained. Ezra nodded, a little impressed. "The academy daredevil. Interesting." Ezra chuckled. "Your father and my father may have a few things in common." Ezra revealed, straightening up from the crouched position he was in to straighten up the poles.
Ezra looked over to the blonde boy. "Okay, Tarzan, what are you planning on climbing to pass the time today?" He asked, brushing the dust off his breeches. Ezra was game, he was agile enough to at least try to keep up. He flashed Seth a grin, interested in the other males next move.

He laughed at Ezra's interpretation to what he'd said and shook his head as he quickly looked around. "Keep your voice down." He said in a stage whisper, as his eyes continued to move around. "I'm sure that dad has spies everywhere, just out to prove that sending me here hasn't tamed my wild ways at all." He shook his head in amusement, though then wondered how often his father did call up and ask about him.
He arched his eyebrows at the question and laughed. "If you want to climb, pretty boy, you're probably best to stick to the climbing walls in the gym. After all, we wouldn't want you to slip and scrape the knee of your tailored clothes." He grinned. "Me? I was thinking about how finding how easy it is to get onto the roof of the barn." He shrugged, the buildings had enough windows, so it shouldn't be too hard.

Ezra mimed locking his lips and throwing away the key, expression amused. Seth's secret was safe with him. "Maybe that's why I challenged you to a date." Ezra chuckled, expression teasing. "Or, I could be a double agent." Ezra shrugged, then laughed. Seth made him feel silly, something he wasn't used to feeling. Ezra was controlled, calculated and sarcastic. Silly was not a word that was ever used to describe him. He wasn't sure how he felt about this new trait.
Ezra rolled his eyes, amused. "I'll just get Daddy to buy me more if they do happen to tear." He countered, laughing softly. "Stop stalling, show me what you've got." Ezra gestured toward the barn, raising a brow in challenge. Maybe Ezra would be lucky enough and fall and break something - maybe then he could keep his mind out of the gym. Ezra chuckled at his dark thoughts.

Seth laughed and shook his head. "If my father knew about that side of things, he would have an apoplexy!" He said, still laughing to himself. "You being a double agent, I could see that. You'd at least look good in a suit."
"Daddy, seriously?" His eyebrow shot up in mock disgust. "I thought spoiled rich kids calling their fathers daddy was a thing of fiction, maybe not." He shrugged, each to their own and all that. "You realise that if we get caught we could be in big trouble?" There wasn't any written rules about not climbing onto the barn roof, but he didn't think it was something the average person would think about doing either. "I do however need to go and change my footwear, as mum would have my guts for garters if I ruined the toes of my riding boots. I'll see you behind White Oak in ten minutes." The time would give him a chance to grab something to eat too.
