Early Morning Clean Up (open to ALL)

Andie rolled out of bed before it was even light and groaned when she couldn't believe that she was up before dawn on a Saturday morning, and she wasn't even on foal watch duty. The young woman walked across the room and opened the curtains. Pausing to look out the window, she tipped her head to the side as she listened for any sound of life from the floors above her apartment on the ground floor of Blue Ribbon House. With a shrug, she quickly dressed in a pair of hot pink jodhpurs, a black long sleeved tee and a pink vest. Pushing her feet into her paddock boots, she left her apartment; leaving a note on the door that she had headed toward the barns and she could be connected on her cell if needed.

Walking into Red Willow Barn, she slipped down to the stall that housed the gelding she had just purchased. "Good morning, Shay." She greeted the gelding as she looked over his door. "What have you done to your bed?" She shook her head as she looked at the shavings that had been dug through until the grey horse had found the rubber lining that was normally between the shavings and the concrete floor of the barn. Grabbing his halter from the hook outside the stall, and entered the stall.

Once the gelding was happily munching out of his breakfast bucket in the barn aisle, she got to work with starting to muck out his stall. She would just do a basic skip while he ate and once he was finished, she would take him out to the pastures and give his stall a complete dung out and bed it down again before she headed out to the Evening Primrose Barn to do her job.

Cortney raced through getting dressed and sprinted down to Red Willow. She didn't enjoy spending as much time in her dorm room as she thought she would. The empty room made her feel isolated, rather than making her feel like part of a community, but she also lived in a House that only had one other female student living there so in the whole the House was empty.

As she walked into the barn, she said a cheery greeting to each of the horses she walked passed, or at least the ones who were looking over their doors as others were still asleep or munching away on their breakfast. The girl pushed her hand against her stomach as it rumbled noisily, as breakfast was the one thing she had skipped out on.

"Hey Andie!" She greeted the woman as she saw the cheer coach and senior barn hand in Evening Primrose. "I didn't expect to see anyone else down here other than the people that work in this barn." She knew that she was talking to the woman in a casual manner, but once they were both working in the same barn, Andie had threatened to make her life miserable - by calling her Ms Smit - if she ever addressed her elder by Ms Simone again.

Once the woman had replied, Cort gave her a friendly wave and continued down to the equipment cupboard where she grabbed what she needed and then made her way down to Remi's stall. She would normally take the mare out to the pasture while she mucked out the stall, but she wanted to give the mare a workout in the arena before she went to do her job in the broodmare barn.

Leaving the mare tied up in the aisle, she gave the mare her breakfast and then quickly went to work skipping out the mare's stall.
