Full Name>> Karina Fuchs
Nicknames>> None
Date of Birth>> 12/03/2002
Staff or Student>> Student
House>> Blue Ribbon House
Gender>> Female
Sexuality>> Heterosexual
Face Claim>> Yvonne Catterfeld
Personality>> Karina is self-assured without being loud about it, a quiet confidence that keeps her going through anything life may throw at her. She has a ready smile and a laugh that's easy to provoke, but a very German dislike for small talk - She'd rather talk about something other than the weather, and don't ask how she's doing unless you really want to know. She is also very big on minimalism, especially in school - She has what she needs for classes, and if you're lucky maybe an extra pencil, but no pretty stickers or pouches adorn her very basic materials. She is very serious about adhering to the rules, and any mention or suggestion of bending those makes her rather uncomfortable - Although she isn't the type to go running to a teacher unless she seriously believes others are in danger.

*Crickets
*Forests
*Studying religions (although she doesn't subscribe to any one specifically)
Dislikes>> *Jeans
*Russian (she has trouble with the language)
*Clutter
*Small talk
*Breaking the rules
Fears>> *Insects crawling on her.
*Being blackmailed again
Hopes>> *To prove Leon wrong and beat him somehow.
*To perfect her English while she's here.
Secrets>> The reason she transferred to Blue Ridge.
Appearance>> Karina's sun-kissed brown hair (totally natural, surprisingly!) and bright blue eyes draw people to her, and her pale, clear skin doesn't hurt the overall picture. At 5'10", she stands slightly tall, but has the weight to keep her from looking skeletal. She has a strong preference for a well-fitting blouse and slacks, and is almost never seen wearing jeans. It is pretty uncommon to see her without makeup of some sort, although it's usually only enough to accentuate her already-present features. Her hair is the one area that she doesn't put too much effort into - A quick ponytail or braid are good enough for everyday wear.
Markings>> Scar on her right collarbone from a bad fall. Ears are pierced once, usually with small stud earrings in them.
Medical History>> Lactose intolerance (mild), broken arm at 8, broken collarbone at 12.
Full History>> Karina was born in Neundorf bei Schleiz, a tiny town in one of the smaller states of Germany. She was one of four children born that school cycle - The four of them grew to be fast friends, although there was always an undercurrent of competition with one of the boys, Leon. She and he were the top students of their class through their basic schooling, but that competition also came with friendship - They did everything together, and spent many long days in each other's company. One thing Leon didn't share, though, was Karina's love for horses.
Around the age of seven, she started hanging around the local stables, and her parents, two well-off professionals with some luck in investments, found her a stable to start taking lessons at in eventing (Vielseitigskeitsreiten) with a well-known trainer. Only the best for their only daughter, and so Karina flourished in her riding career. She started competing by age nine, and almost every weekend was spent at a competition or at the barn, training or learning or just helping out. Since her grades didn't suffer, her parents allowed it to happen.
At the age of ten, Karina and Leon were the two from their town accepted to the local Gymnasium in Schleiz. Leon, an accomplished high jumper, had never begrudged Karina her riding, but now that they were at a top school, the academic competition truly began. Their fourth year at the school, Karina started pulling ahead, but Leon couldn't handle it.
In a fit of jealousy, he switched Karina's milk (lactose-free) with his own (not), without letting her know, before a large exam. She accepted it as a mistake the first time it happened, until it happened again a week later. When Karina confronted Leon and threatened to turn him in, he shot right back, saying that he'd accuse Karina's favorite teacher, the Religion teacher, of seducing her, unless her grades started coming in underneath his.
Distraught by the thought of her favorite teacher being so slandered, Karina acquiesced, and her grades suffered. Her parents assumed it had been a quarrel between the children, but didn't guess the magnitude. However, they did ask Karina if she would prefer a fresh start - One of the assistants at her equestrian trainer's facility had been speaking of time he'd spent at a school in the United States, and had said it was the place for anyone who might be serious about riding.
Karina jumped at the chance, and her parents pulled some strings to get her absence excused from the school, and have a place for her when she returned, should she wish to slot into the school system again. She applied to Blue Ridge and was accepted. When it came time to leave, she packed a simple suitcase and told her parents to donate the rest - Her book collection, her wall hangings, everything. They contained painful memories, and she vowed to herself to not accumulate so much junk ever again.
Finally, just in time for the winter term, Karina flew to Kentucky.
