Personality>> Butch is anything but an easy horse to be with, if you don’t know how to ride, don’t even think about trying to mount up, as you’ll just find yourself unceremoniously put back on the ground.
He’s not keen on people, no matter the age or gender, so getting on his good-side can take a bit of work.
His manners aren’t the best, and when mounting, you’d better not muck around with it, as he won’t stay in one spot any longer than he feels he needs to as he’ll head off when he is good and ready, even if his rider is hanging off the saddle. He also has a habit of breathing heavily while being worked, even during the warm-up, though he’s far from lazy.
Out in the pasture, he’s there to eat, not galavant around with the other horses. You’re in his spot? He’ll find another. Eating grass is a serious business.
He loves apples, the juicier the better, and your top is all the better to wipe his mouth with after he’s finished. Oh,is that your best top? Let me add a little apple to it.

Basic History>> The word to describe the start if Butch's life, is perfect. The stud farm where he was born was one of the best; best money, best care, best horses, best plans.
Once he was weaned, Butch was turned out with the other youngsters and they were left to grow into their bodies, with a little handling, before they were brought in as three year olds and then their real training began.
After jumping out of his yard for the fourth time, the last observed by his owner, the focus on Butch's training shifted from dressage to jumping, which he seemed to do very well even without training.
Purchased, sight unseen, Butch was trucked to Blue Ridge Academy as a Christmas gift for Mika.
