Nicknames>> Meg
Date of Birth>> 8/20/2001
Staff or Student>> Student
House>> Green Ribbon House
Gender>> Female
Sexuality>> Heterosexual
Face Claim>> Hailey Sole
Personality>> Meaghan Callaghan is a teenage girl, so like most teenage girls she has an attitude. She doesn't like doing things that her aunt and uncle make her do, such as doing her homework before watching TV. What she hates the most though is the fact that her aunt is usually gone and it's just her and her uncle around. Meaghan is definitely a mommy's girl and has been since she was an infant. Her uncle was the person she'd tell something to if she was scared how her aunt was going to react.
Meaghan keeps her feelings hidden, not even telling her aunt and uncle how she really feels, though her aunt can usually always tell when Meaghan's keeping something from them. Meaghan doesn't like sharing her feelings because she's afraid of how her aunt and uncle are going to react, and she prefers to solve things by herself. She didn't even tell her aunt and uncle about the bullying that was going on in her high school but rather decided to start acting out and mouthing off to everyone.
Meaghan is generally a very nice girl, but sometimes she can get an attitude to her especially if something's bothering her. Meg finds it hard to make friends and the friends she has she's been friends with since first grade. Friendship means a lot to Meg, and she doesn't like it when other's lie to her or betray her trust. Since she finds it hard to make friends, Meg can usually be peer-pressured into doing something that she doesn't want to simply because she doesn't want to lose her friends.
When Meg's stressed about something she enjoys reading or watching TV. She writes in her journal every day, usually when she has something on her mind that she can't stop thinking about. She will also stress-bake which usually means entire countertops covered in cookies, brownies, pies, cakes and bread puddings....and whatever else she feels like attempting to try. Meg usually also will be found in her room if she's stressed or just needs some time alone.
Family is very important to Meg especially seeing as she only has her aunt and uncle left in her family. She misses her parents, but she's been without them for 16 years. Meg fears to lose her aunt especially because of her job, but most of all, she fears to lose both her aunt and uncle and being alone. Meaghan will usually call her aunt every day if she's working on a case, or if she's just had a bad day at school. Meg cherishes her family since she knows how easily she could lose them.

Appearance>> Meaghan is a short but leggy 16 year old. She stands at 5'1 but has long legs for her size. Meg has a short torso, so most of her height comes from her legs. She knows she's petite, but it doesn't bother her that much. The only thing she hates about it that her height makes her look younger than she actually is, and the fact that she has to climb on the countertops to get stuff down from a high shelf. Meaghan is a little underweight for her height, but nothing horrible. She's always been at least a little underweight, mostly because she doesn't eat a lot preferring snacking throughout the day to eating large meals.
Meg has dark brown hair but she ombred some of it, only the ends and some strands of hair, a dirty blonde/light brown color. Her hair isn't super long, but it reaches her past her shoulders, almost to her chest when it's left down. Her hair is wavy, and usually, she has it pulled back from her face because she has a tiny face. Meaghan has paler skin in the winter, but during the summer, she can get really tan since she loves being outside. Meg isn't one for makeup really, not having the patience to do anything but put on a coat of lip gloss or lipstick (so long as it works like a chapstick does) sometimes. Meg has big brown eyes, and her aunt used to call them "Bambi eyes" when she was a little girl. Meg doesn't really smile that much, but when she does people say that she should smile more often.
As for clothes, Meaghan is usually wearing jeans (usually skinny jeans but sometimes bootcut if she's not wearing boots) and whatever shirt she can grab first out of her dresser drawer. She usually wears boots in the winter and when it's raining, and ballet flats or flip flops in fall, spring and summer. Meaghan doesn't really care what she looks like for school, unless it's picture day or something important is happening. She only wears dresses and skirts for special occasions, unless she gets sunburn, and tries her best to avoid heels. Meaghan has weak ankles and finds it difficult to walk in heels, especially if she wants to avoid tripping and taking someone else down with her when she falls.

II. Multiple scars on arms and legs
Medical History>> I. Usual flues and colds
II. Hospitalization for the removal of her appendix
Full History>> Meaghan was born to Liz and John Cooper, a married couple who were very much in love with each other. She was the light of their eye, and as an infant, her parents loved her dearly. Meaghan had the best care, things, and didn't lack for love. Elizabeth, or Liz, and John both worked in the Pentagon, but they lived on the outskirts of Maryland, almost in the District.
Meaghan's guardian in case anything were to happen to her parents was her aunt, Kate Callaghan. Meaghan had a nanny that took care of her during the day while her parents worked. Her parents had left their little girl with Emily after kissing her goodbye and they went to work on that Tuesday morning. Little did they know what was going to happen at 8:46 that morning. It was a terrible twist of fate that the infant girl who could want for nothing in terms of love and care that her parents were cruelly taken from her that horrendous Tuesday morning. When it happened, Emily was feeding Meaghan. She was being fussy and crying, almost like she knew what had happened to her parents.
It was confirmed that both Liz and John had not made it out of the Pentagon and had died in the building leaving Meaghan alone in the world. At this point in time, Kate Callaghan was married to Robert Callaghan and working for the FBI in the BAU whereas Robert was a mechanical engineer. Kate was devastated when she found out that her sister and her brother-in-law were killed.
Seeing as Kate was Meaghan's legal guardian in Liz's will, Kate got guardianship of Meaghan. Robert and Kate adopted Meaghan and raised her. It was tough as Robert and Kate were essentially raising Meaghan as their own daughter, taking care of her and loving her. She was told bedtime stories about her parents even as an infant, instead of being read the usual fairytales or being sung songs. The couple ended up moving into Liz and John's home and Kate took a year off from work to stay home with Meaghan while Robert worked.
Meaghan ended up getting sick multiple times with the usual flues and colds that infants got. As a toddler, she ended up having febrile seizures but they went away. It had, however, scared the hell out of Robert and Kate every time it happened.
Meaghan grew up hearing stories about her parents, some that she hadn't been told as a bedtime story when she was an infant. Meaghan never questioned that her aunt and uncle loved her and why her parents weren't around. When she entered school she got lots of looks from her classmates about not having parents. Meaghan found it hard to make friends, as she was an only child living in a neighborhood without any other kids to play with. Eventually, Meaghan made friends instead of just having playmates.
When Kate was eight years old, she ended up very sick. Kate and Robert kept her home from school thinking it was just the flu or cold seeing as she wasn't hungry, was vomiting and had a fever. Meaghan was taken to the hospital later and had to be taken into surgery once it was revealed that she had appendicitis. Meaghan was in the hospital for two days afterward and then returned home. During the three weeks that Meaghan wasn't allowed to do any of her normal activities, she started reading a lot more. Meaghan read a lot of books about horses and once she was allowed to resume her usual activities, she approached Kate and Robert about maybe taking up horse-back riding. She was a little worried that her aunt and uncle would say no, but to her surprise, Kate said she could.
Meaghan started taking riding lessons from a barn about 45 minutes away. It was great fun, and Meaghan enjoyed it a lot, even though she was a little weary of being around the horses at first having only read about them before.
Meaghan had her riding lessons on the weekends and after a few years, she became a gifted equestrian although she still had many things to work on. Meaghan began to cut herself as her aunt left more and more often on cases. It was easy enough to hide so long as she cut places where clothing or concealer could cover easily. Meg wasn't exactly sure why she started doing it, but she always assumed that it had something to do with her parents and feeling alone in the world, having been bullied her first year of middle school for no apparent reason.
Her aunt caught her once when she came home one night and made her stop, only giving her a razor to shave with and Kate had to watch to make sure she didn't try to harm herself again.
Meaghan also ended up throwing herself into riding more often, getting a job at the stables so she could earn money for more lessons and start showing as well. Kate and Robert ended up leasing a horse from the barn for Meg but it was only a half lease. They wanted her priority to be on school and family, instead of focusing all her time on riding and being with the horses.
Meaghan started showing when she could ride more than once a week. She found that she enjoyed showing, but she also enjoyed just doing arena work and going on trail rides.
When Meaghan was 15, she was being bullied by several girls at her school. She was made fun of for not having any parents and mocked for her grades. Some of the girls had also found out that her parents had died in 9/11 and told everyone. Meg ended up acting out severely, mouthing off to teachers and her guardians. She even started going out more often and sneaking out of the house at night. Her grades dropped and the only constant in her life who she wasn't mouthing off to was her horse.
At 16, the barn owner of the barn sold the horse that Meaghan was leasing. She let Kate and Robert know, though, so that they could lease her another horse or buy her one. Meaghan was heart-broken when her horse was sold, as she viewed him as hers. What she didn't know was the surprise that was planned for her.
One day from school, Meaghan thought that Kate was picking her up from school and taking her to the movies for an aunt-niece day except that wasn't the case. They ended up going to the barn where Meaghan was surprised with a horse of her own to take care of and ride. One that was truly hers and couldn't be taken away from her.
When confronted with her actions of acting out after one brutal yelling argument including swear words as well as harmful words intending to hurt her guardians when she was trying to sneak out in a skimpy outfit, Meaghan reluctantly told her guardians everything about the bullying breaking down and crying. That was the first time Meaghan called Kate and Robert Mom and Dad. She truly viewed them as her parents, because in her eyes they were.
Kate and Robert wondered what to do because the bullying wasn't going to stop. The only thing they could do was move, and seeing as Kate had gotten a better job offer from another unit in the FBI they decided that the best thing to do was move from D.C. to Kentucky.
The family moved to Louisville, and Meaghan happily bid adieu to her old high school. The barn owner where Meaghan took lessons from told Meaghan about a riding academy that she ought to look into in Kentucky. Meaghan took her words to heart and did a google search about the academy.
When they moved to Kentucky, Meaghan had several hours to figure out how to break it to her parents that she wanted to attend a boarding school. Meaghan eventually talked to Kate about it in the fifth hour of the drive. Kate was surprised at the amount of information that Meaghan bombarded her with on the school. Kate told her she'd have to think about it, especially with the hefty price tag that was sure to come with the school.
Meg's aunt started looking into the boarding school herself and discussed it with Robert. Kate found out that one of her friends from college who she attended most of her classes with worked at the boarding school. Kate ended up calling Tux to ask him his opinion on the school and to get the price tag for the elite school. Kate was going to tell Meaghan that she couldn't go....there was no way that they could afford it. However, Tux told Kate that there was a sponsor program the school did and that he would be willing to sponsor Meaghan.
Given the fact that this all happened in October, and Meaghan somehow had the application already completed, Kate and Robert told Meaghan that she could go to the school. However, there were to be rules. This wasn't college, and they wanted to hear from her every week. Meaghan sent in the application for the winter semester asap and heard back from Blue Ridge Academy in December. Meaghan had been accepted into Blue Ridge come to the start of January and the new semester. Meaghan eagerly packed up her clothes and got some new things for school and her dorm. Come January and Meaghan was prepared with everything she could need, both for herself and her horse. Kate and Robert weren't so prepared to say goodbye to their daughter but Meaghan wanted this and so long as nothing happened to her like at her last school, it was worth it.
