She is always sticking her head out into the isle to see what is going on and willing to except a pat on the head from most anyone. On show days she can get a little hot and antsy so she is often seen being worked in the warm up ring to keep her mind busy. Mira is smart girl and has quickly learned her disciplines. Although she sometimes confuses cues from her rider if they are not confident. She will sometimes anticipate and over commit in her jumps if her rider is not 100% focused on telling her what to do. She is learning to patient and listening to her rider more as she gets more training in Dressage.
Caution Around>> picking up her back feet
Basic History>> Mira was born at a large Hanoverian stud farm in the Netherlands as a prospect for an ameture professional rider. She was slow to grow during her first 2-3 years which delayed any training her owner had planned for her. Frustrated that she wasn't what he had wanted Zephyr's Songbird was sold to several other owners and trained in various diciplines (Show jumping, hunter, equitation). She showed the most promise as a jumper but didn't seem to click with either the trainer or the rider as she grew. Mira finally grew and filled out become quite a large horse. Her spotty training made her only good for intermediate shows as she lacked the maturity and exposure she really needed. In 2014 Liam was with his trainer Eoin Flanigan at a show outside London when the saw Zephyr's Songbird. They could see her potential as a mount for Liam who was looking for his first horse but wasn't having much luck back in Ireland finding the right one. They spoke with her current trainer and were able to borrow her for an event at the show. The two didn't win but the chemistry was there. It turned out her current trainer was retiring and was more than happy to sell the inexperienced mare. The past four years have flown by as Liam learns and grows with Mira.
