Personality>> Maeve is a bit of a contradiction of personalities. Since she has spent so much of her life by herself, she comes off as either calm and untroubled, or cocky and self-assured. The one thing she isn't so open with is her emotions.
She's the world's best friend, and every persons as well, with an uncanny ability to fit in with whoever is around her, easily making herself seem to be what people want her to be. With that said though, it isn't easy to become her friend, as she's careful of those she allows close, but once she has classed you as her friend, you have her loyalty for life.
The main thing about Maeve is that she likes her personal space, and people invading her bubble, without permission to do so, upset her. You want to be her friend? Start at a distance. And she has a strong affinity with animals and even the ones who seem to loathe everyone other than their owners seem drawn to this girl.
Her parents would tell people that their daughter's main vice is the fact that she sees the best in everything and everyone. If she's hurt by someone, she's always willing to give them another chance, even if she shouldn't.

Appearance>> Maeve's face is framed with long brown hair that she wears out as much as she wears it pulled back, and grey eyes that have been commented to be able to see into the soul of the person she's talking to - after all, the eyes are the window to the soul. She has a natural beauty, and doesn't believe in having to wear make-up to accentuate anything.
She loves dresses, but due to where she grew up, they weren't the most suitable thing to wear, so most of her wardrobe consists of t-shirts or polo tops and form fitting pants that are comfortable to move around in. She loves her comfortable soft leather cowgirl boots that were given to her from one of her co-op teachers during a Christmas party.
Markings>> A heart shaped brand on her palm from picking up hot metal when she should have known better.
Medical History>> Normal childhood issues; chicken pox, measles, had tonsils out. Broke her ankle from tripping over a fallen brance while chasing a dog.
Full History>> Anyone would think that living in a town with a population of fifty people would be lonesome and boring for a child, but it was really all Maeve knew, and with her parents being forest rangers, she was never lacking places to explore.
She was raised and taught in a local co-op school, with the other local children so she wasn't exactly lonely, just school wasn't exactly what others would call school either, and they spent more time exploring the outdoors as they did sitting behind a desk working from a textbook, though none of the children ever lacked for what they learned, and the ages of the children was so mixed that the children taught each other as much as they were taught by the teachers.
When she was seven Maeve befriended an elderly lady who lived on the outskirts of their town, and as long as her parents knew where she was, and that Enid didn't mind, Maeve's parents had nothing against their daughter keeping the woman company, as everyone knew that Enid didn't have any family of her own; in the area if at all. There was always a rumour that the woman was a witch, which she never confirmed or denied. Maeve loved the hours that she spent with Enid, and all the things she learned from the woman, and Enid said that she was a natural earth-spirit.
It wasn't for another few years before Maeve actually understood what she was learning and she really began to become in touch with the world around her. She discovered that her talents were with animals, plants and healing, though she had no interest in becoming a vet, as she believed that vets were more invested in the money they could make than actually helping the animals.
As it drew closer to her time to start high school, Maeve and her parents sat together and searched through a list of suggested boarding schools. Blue Ridge seemed to be the one to call to the girl, and even though it would possibly feel like being on the other side of the world to her parents, she knew that it was the place for her. While the McKenna family didn't have any pets, Maeve's quiet nature had allowed her to get close enough to and make friends with a herd of wild Mustangs, so she had a little experience with horses, and was thrilled that she would be able to learn more. While she knew it was a long shot, her parents sent in the application and the rest, as they say, is history
