Paige sighed melodramatically. "Full of disappointments, you are," she told him with every appearance of sincerity, although the grin lingering around her lips did tend to rather give her away. "And here I thought I was going to be able to rely on you to get me out of anything."
She opened her mouth but nothing emerged, and after a second or two of waiting, she closed it again, taking a deep breath. Well. There wasn't really anything that she could say to that, was there. She seized gratefully on his new topic of conversation and nodded along as he explained. "I'll bear that in mind," she managed.

He shrugged apologetically. "Thus is life." He offered as an explination. And going by his track record, trying to talk someone else out of trouble was more than likely going to get them in even more trouble... unless of course he felt that that person wasn't to blame.
Seth smirked as he walked over and rubbed Hoot's forehead, before he started to play with the gelding's forelock. "How are you at playing pool?" There were some disadvantages to living in a House surrounded by other boys, he didn't get to mingle with females unless here in the barn, or the rec centre, and he always loved a game of pool.

"Well, life sucks," Paige muttered, with the barest hint of a grin lingering around the corners of her mouth. It was true, of course, life was disappointing, but... Well, she was a normal girl and she couldn't deny that there were some very attractive boys around the place. Judging by first appearances, anyway.
She shrugged at the question. "Not great," the brunette admitted, remembering one occasion when she'd completely missed the cue ball and smashed the lampshade with her cue instead. "Piper is better than I am. I'm more a chess kind of person... Or darts; I'm good at darts."

Seth nodded, life did suck, but he wasn't going to let that damper his spirit, and there were plenty of... sights to see around campus to keep the spirit happy.
He pouted slightly at her answer, though the information about her sister being better at it at least meant that he might have someone to play with, if he could convince Piper that he wasn't a conceited jerk. He pursed his lips in thought, his eyes twinkling. "I'm sure I saw a couple of those Velcro boards in there." He said with a smirk. "I'm not really a darts kind of person. Too many people afraid that I might miss, so it's never been suggested when we've been out." There was nothing wrong with his hand-eye coordination though.

Paige shuddered melodramatically. "Oh, God, not Velcro..." she complained, though the glint in her eye suggested that perhaps her complaints weren't quite so serious as they might seem. In all honesty, she hated Velcro dartboards; they were utterly useless so far as she was concerned and maybe it was just her aim, but she could never get the things to stick like they were supposed to. "I mean, I guess I could play pool with you if you like, but I wouldn't be much competition."

"I know, right?" He agreed with her. "The weight is all wrong, they never stick right. And there's no joy in that 'twack' sound you get when an actual dart goes into a board." He beamed when she agreed to a game of pool. "It's a date!"
He rubbed Hoot's nose. "I feel that I've used up enough of your time, and I'm sure that you'll want to make sure your own horse is settled in. I'll catch you around sometime, Miss Paige." He gave her a grin and mock salute, and headed toward the door.
