NARCISSUS
Registered Name>> N/A
Barn Name>> Narcissus
Birth Year>> 2006
Sex>> Gelding
Breed>> Grade Horse
Breed Registry>> N/A
Coat Colour>> Bay
Stable Colour>> Strong Cyan
Height>> 15.3
Personality>> Some scars from the past are still there, and this horse is easily spooked, so he needs a human who will be the confidence that he is trying to find, and this spookiness in him causes him to break into a sweat at the drop of a hat.
He doesn't mind moving away from other horses, as long as the person he is with is someone he finds trustworthy.
He's better turned out into pasture with ponies, as large horses tend to intimidate him.
He loves playing a game of "catch me if you can" when it's time to be caught, so always make sure that you don't leave catching him until the last possible minute.
He's easy to please when it comes to treats, as he loves anything salty, so a brand new salt lick would have him in heaven.
Caution Around>> He doesn’t like cows, or at least the more white on them, the less he likes them. Maybe he thinks they are some nightmarish version of a horse?
Basic History>> Upon the closing of a horse yard, while the horses were sold to the highest bidder, there were a group of horses, negelcted and left to their own devices.
Underfed and overgrown hooves, and in desperate need of TLC to bring the shine back into coats and remove the burrs caught in mane and tail.
Destined to head to slaughter, the small group were herded into a horse truck, destination unknown, until the driver received a call that saved the lives of the horses
Maeve had shared all her experiences of connecting with the gelding, and after classes had started and a phone call with the barn managers, it was decided that the McKeena’s would adopt the Grade Horse for their daughter, offering the Academy a generous donation for the horse, and Maeve can’t wait to continue her work with the horse who already has a place in her heart.
