Personality>> The ultimate tomboy, Jo will have nothing to do with anything pink, purple or glittery unless absolutely held at gunpoint. She takes no nonsense from anyone and is absolutely prepared to stand up for herself or others when she has to. Despite a tough exterior, she has a soft, sweet heart- a bit like a jam doughnut- and will always do her best to help out anyone who needs it, albeit while taking great care to avoid actually being seen to do so, because that wouldn't do her image any favours. She feels that she has something to prove, and will always try her hardest to come out on top.

Secrets>> She once sold a necklace she'd inherited from her grandmother to buy a birthday present for a friend.
Appearance>> Naturally graceful and slender, it's nevertheless evident that Jo is a strong girl with plenty of force behind her, and, though her physique is that of a dancer, her movements definitely aren't; she moves with purpose. Her hair hangs to her waist and is very dark, dead straight and sleek; however, she usually wears it in a ponytail to keep it out of her way since she finds it an irritation. Jeans and plaid shirts are her usual outfit of choice; skirts are avoided at all costs since she thinks they're pointless. Though she keeps herself clean and tidy, she has no interest in makeup.
Markings>> Pierced ears
Medical History>> Numerous breakages and sprains after falls from trees, down stairs, off horses, etc.
Full History>> Born as half of a pair of twins in Ohio, Jo grew up very much under her mother's influence, as her brother did under her father's, and as such, was subjected to pink and purple, unicorns and fairies, from almost the moment of her birth. Dolls' houses and toy ponies littered her bedroom as she grew up, but that didn't mean that they were ever touched; in fact, Jo made a point of giving them as wide a berth as she could contrive within the confines of the room, and she certainly would never be caught dead playing with them. Though her mother hoped that she might grow out of it, such a thing never happened; makeup, boys and dance classes were all eschewed in turn, and the only remotely feminine thing which Jo would concede to do was to ride. However, even in this, she did not engage as fully as her mother had hoped; though she loved the sport, the girl kept on stopping to give her brother a turn, and her mother, eventually accepting defeat, bought another horse.
When her brother was finally sent off to a boarding school, in order (she suspected) to get him out of the way, there was no way that Joanne was going to stay at home on her own, and so she put her foot down. She was going too.
