"You banished me here because you love me? Nikki screamed into her phone as she stomped around the common room, not caring who was close enough to hear her. It's not like she was scared of the woman in charge of the House or anything. "Well, then, i bet you'll be thrilled to hear that I'm staying here for the summer then." She rolled her eyes at the excited inhalation from her mother on the other end of the line. "Coach Hoefflin said there are a number of competitions I can do over the summer, that will make me more visual to college scouts, so I'm doing that." She said with a smug smile, knowing that her mother was hoping she was staying because she wanted to be around the stupid horses!
After ending the call, she pulled her hand back, wanting to throw something, anything, but tightened her fist around her phone rather than throwing it, knowing that breaking her phone right now wasn't going to do her any favours, her parents wouldn't care if she did.
Crossing her legs, she sat down on the floor with a sigh. when she had phoned home, she had been expecting to get a little bit of an argument about her wanting to remain on campus over the summer, but the call hadn't gone in that direction at all. Without her even having a chance to say anything, her mother had started lecturing her about how much her parents were doing for her. Sure, it was probably her own fault, as she mostly only called to beg for them to change her schools.
