Welcome to Blue Ridge (closed)

Considering that Bobby had needed to use the bathroom twice during what should have been a 3-hour drive from the farm, it had taken a little longer than expected for the Greycrest family to arrive at Blue Ridge. As they pulled into the parking lot, Tal looked out at window at what was to be her new school. The place looked huge. Hopefully, there'd be plenty of people around to help her out if she needed it.


While her parents waited in the car, Tal made her way into the Main Office and stood nervously at the front desk. "Um....hello, I'm Talira Jane Greycrest. The acceptance pack I received told me to come to the Main Office on arrival."

Jen smiled at the girl as she walked in, "Welcome to Blue Ridge, Talira. I'm Ms. Hart." She looked away from the girl for a moment, to type the name into the school's database, and then pulled out a map of the campus, "You'll be in room B02 of the Blue Ribbon House, which is here." She circled the building with a highlighter, letting the girl see, "And your horse will be in the White Oak Barn, which is here." Another circle, and then she capped the highlighter. After pulling out a room key from the collection of them by the desk, she slid both items across the space to the girl, "Your Head of House is Andie Simone, she has a room on the bottom floor of your building, and the barn manager is Ms. Carr if you need any help there. Their phone numbers, among others, are listed on the back of the map."

Jen mentally went over her checklist, but she had hit all of the important points. "Do you have any questions?"

Tal waited while her name was typed into the computer. So far, her first day at Blue Ridge was getting off to a good start. The staff seemed friendly and helpful and she hoped the other students would be the same. She nodded as Ms Hart pointed out where her room was and where Bobby would be staying.

"It's very nice to meet you, Ms Hart, thanks for your help. Don't have any questions at the moment, but if I do, I'll be sure to ask."

Popping the map and her room key into her pocket, Tal hurried back to the family car. "Pretzel and I have a room in the Blue Ribbon House and Bobby's got a stall in the White Oak Barn. Time to get unpacking!"
