Full History>> Lauren was born to Miss. Ann. She was put up for adoption. She was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Davidson. Ironically they lived in Maryland which was were Lauren was born. The Davidson’s adopted the tiny girl. Lauren was told she was adopted at a young age. She looks close enough to the Davidson’s though that people just assume that Lauren’s their biological daughter.
Lauren was smart for her age in first grade. It was discussed that she moved up a grade but that was dismissed.
In first grade the Davidson’s visited a farm. Lauren fell in love with horses. For her birthdays and Christmas she asked for horse books. This was just the start of Lauren’s love for horses.
In 4th grade Lauren begged her parents for a horse. This request was denied however but Lauren was granted riding lessons at a local riding stable in Maryland. Lauren was a natural at riding her trainer told her parents. The trainer recommended getting a horse for Lauren but that wasn’t their plan yet for Lauren.
In 6th grade Lauren was granted her wish for a horse. The horse was a bay Morgan Fresian cross mare named Ariel. Lauren boarded Ariel at a boarding stable. Lauren kept up her grades and did her chores and took care of Ariel each night to show her parents that they would not be disappointed. Lauren got the mare in 6th grade because it was Lauren’s last year at the elementary school before middle school.
In 7th grade on winter break the unthinkable happened. The Davidson’s took a trip to the Rocky Mountains. Lauren was trapped outside in negative 30 and below weather and snow. Lauren was found and airlifted to a hospital. It was a wonder she had survived. She was taken into surgery and had to get her left big toe amputated. It took 6 weeks before Lauren could go home and get back to her normal routine. The owner of the stables where Ariel was boarded had taken care of the mare. It was wonder she didn’t lose more toes or a finger or two the doctor had told the parents of Lauren.
That summer Lauren applied for a boarding school by the named of Blue Ridge in Kentucky. Lauren was overjoyed when a letter came from her from Blue Ridge on July 10. She opened it and almost fainted when the letter said that she had been accepted into the prestigious boarding school in Kentucky.
We found love in a hopeless place
