Turn away 'cause I need you more
Personality>> Glen has always been, and will always be, very forward. She has a very friendly personality, without the reserves that so many people harbour against starting a conversation. She'll start talking to anyone, about anything, as long as they are willing to listen. She can come across as a bit silly sometimes, but honestly just enjoys the company of other people. She has a hard time letting other people talk at times, although she tries her best to let others get a word in... Sometimes, there's just too much to say for her.
Along with her overly friendly demeanour comes trust. Glen is fast to trust, and easy to apologize to, for anything. She rarely holds grudges, and when she does, you probably killed her horse or something of similar influence. This makes her an easy target for those looking to use her, to the chagrin of her mother, who worries about her. However, there isn't much that she can do anymore. The one slight mistake that will put her on edge is asking about her father. She has heard muttered comments that she perhaps is like him since his trial and conviction, and doesn't ever talk about what happened. Blue Ridge is her way of getting away from the rumours, hoping that they don't start up again. Even at competitions, Glen is more the one to have a good time and socialize than to fuss over her horses for hours, although she is more serious in the ring (There's no one to talk to, after all).
Likes>> Warmbloods, scarves, gossip(ing), cross country, singing
Dislikes>> Arabians (The horses), airplanes, dogs, having to be quiet, losing, being compared to her father
Fears>> Flying, worms
Hopes>> Make her mother proud, prove that she isn't like her father
Secrets>> Her father was convicted (and put to death) for murder, and many of her easy-going traits are the same as his seemed to be. People connected the two, and she often hears murmurs that maybe she is like him.
It’s the way I’m feeling I just can’t deny
Appearance>> Standing at 5'6", Glen is your average woman, taller than some, shorter than others. She has straight, long brown hair with blonde highlights, left to grow about halfway down her back. Her pale skin peers out from an almost flawless complexion, a perfect canvas for her blue-grey eyes, strong nose, and pale lips. She often opts to use makeup to add a bit more colour to her face, as she is sometimes 'too' pale, and never seems to tan.
Of slender, 'swimmer's' build, Glen can pull off almost all of the newest fashions, something that is her passion. On or off of a horse, she looks well put together, her clothing reflecting the 'trendy' fashions. Her favourite accessories are scarves, and she prefers them to necklaces, although she will concede that they aren't always the best for the heat of summer.
Markings>> Each ear pierced once.
But I’ve gotta let it go
Medical History>> Tonsils removed at 9, broke her collarbone at 17 from falling off of a horse, right arm at 26 tripping on the stairs.
Criminal History>> Nope. She's been very careful to be a model citizen.
Full History>> A small house in a good neighbourhood in Oregon, a working father who found the time to go toevery softball game, volunteer in class, help with the bake sale, and a mother who was a teacher at the local school. Your quintessential middle-class home, happy, loving, always laughing... At least, that's what it looked like. Growing up, Glen had everything that she could ask for, with a family that didn't worry about money for the most part. Yes, a yacht might be out of their budget, but why would they need a yacht anyway? They were a happy family.
That was the mindset that Glen grew up with, all of the way up to high school. Then, of course, she started arguing with her mother, as most teen girls are wont to do. Glen started spending more time at the barn, exchanging help for lessons when her mother refused to pay again for some misbehaviour. It never got out of hand, though, and life continued on generally as normal... Until, that is, junior year. It happened one night, when she and a few friends were hanging out in the field at the edge of town. One of the girls stumbled over something that they thought was a rock, until the flashlight played over the features of a skull... Needless to say, the little town was turned upside down. Not one, not two, but six skeletons were discovered in that field within the next week, and the hunt for the murderer began.
It continued for a month or two, but after a number of dead ends, the police was forced to put it aside in order to work on more pressing matters... Until #7 appeared, provocatively placed in the exact centre of the field, not even buried. This proved to be the murderer's undoing, as he'd gotten sloppy in his methods, and had left enough fingerprints to be convicted any number of times... Mr. Ó Raghailligh was convicted the September before Glen Aulin's 17th birthday... Needless to say, it wasn't much of a party that year. Glen would cut herself off from his father, learning only years after of his death.
After graduating from high school, a hard uphill battle due to her now-hopeless social situation, Glen knew she wanted to get away from the town that she grew up in. After applying at a number of colleges out of state, Glen Aulin attended one, getting her masters in equine science. While there, she picked up swimming, at first just to pass the time, and later continuing because, like eventing, she had a gift for it.
Unable to do anything with her masters straight out of college, Glen applied for a position as a swim coach at a high school, and found herself enjoying the program. She spent five years coaching at that school, leading them to a championship twice, before what she had hoped would not happen did... Someone from nowhere, Oregon moved to town... And recognized the swim coach's name. After the rumours about her reached fever pitch, Glen found herself not enjoying work anymore, and started applying for other positions. She got accepted at Blue Ridge, and hopes to make her own history here.
We found love in a hopeless place
Pet Name>> Cyrene
Registered Name>> Snowcat Pixies Current Edition
Age>> 6 years
Gender>> Female
Species>> Feline
Breed>> Pixie-Bob
Registry>> TICA
Personality>> Clever and friendly, that's Cyrene. She's a typical Pixie-Bob in her canine-like demeanour, although she can be aloof. She's bonded only with Glen, and wouldn't perform for anyone else, although she will deign to let herself be petted once in a while, but tends to stay away from strangers. She's been leash-trained, as a bit of fun, but took to it like a fish to water, and can often be seen going on walks with Glen Aulin.
History>> A late 25th birthday present from Glen Aulin's mom, Cyrene was the product of two carefully selected pixie-bobs. She didn't come cheap, but Ms. Thompson knew that she needed something special for her daughter. Since then, Cyrene's been with Glen Aulin, and has been trained for a few tricks, although she's not what you would call 'reliable' on any of them, being a cat and all.
