A new year, another new start, although this year, at least some students should be here again. The team as it was hadn't gotten too far the last year, although Raenn hadn't minded too much, as she had just wanted to get her students some basic training. This year, she would be able to try and enter a few of her better students in competitions, to get their feet wet.
With both Elly and Choo tacked up, Raenn was ready to start. She had already left most of her equipment in the arena, which was cleared for their use during their afternoon practice sessions. Deciding that she might as well ride the short distance to the arena, Raenn vaulted onto Choo's back and ponied Elly along as they trudged towards the Benedict's arena. When they reached it, Raenn slipped off of Choo's back and picked up his lead again before she tied Elly to the hitching post outside of the arena and then led Choo inside.
Switching the gelding's lead for the lunge line, she picked up her whip and waved it, sending the gelding out on a fifteen-metre circle to warm up at the far end of the arena, so that her students could still gather inside. As they all gathered, Raenn slowed Choo, but kept the gelding moving so she could instruct the team, "Hey guys! Start stretching out while I warm up Choo, and then get into order so we can begin. Those of you that worked with me last year, help out the newcomers, please." She sent the gelding out at a trot again, watching snippets of the students' stretches as she kept an eye on the gelding's motion.
