<<Played by Stern>>
Shine a light through an open door
Full Name>> Manfred Aachen
Nicknames>> Coach
Age>> Date of Birth; Age
Staff or Student>> Staff, Geometry and Swimming
House>> Brown
Gender>> Male

Turn away 'cause I need you more
Personality>> Manfred has different personalities for the different environments he is in. At the pool, he is loud, but understanding. He is willing to listen to any problems you may have, and he doesn't mind explaining things three hundred different ways until you finally understand the stroke. He is calmer and more relaxed at the beginning of the competitive season and the beginning of class, but towards the end, closer to competitions, he gets pretty harsh, making students redo strokes for the slightest mistake.
In the classroom, he is the opposite. He is quiet, but to the point. He teaches things two different ways, and if you don't understand it, or weren't paying attention, go see him after class. He doesn't give too much homework if he feels the class understands it, but if the class is rude or not listening, he will simply overload them with homework. He never gets loud, if he ever has any discipline issues in his class, he just asks the student to go sit outside or to visit the principle.
Likes>> Swimming, math, riding, competitions, German
Dislikes>> Rudeness, a disrespectful class, people talking badly about Germans, chlorine in his eyes
Fears>> Snakes, airplane crashes
Hopes>> Get his team to title in a competition, get a dog again.
Secrets>> He's afraid of snakes.
It’s the way I’m feeling I just can’t deny
Appearance>> Manfred has a tanned face, from being out on pool decks. His eyes are brown, as is his hair. He wears his hair cut short, no longer than half an inch. He has a small mustache on his face, not too much, just a faint line.
On deck, he usually wears swim sandals, shorts, a t-shirt, and sunglasses. He always has his blue whistle around his neck. When he is in the classroom, however, he looks very different. He wears a tie, and a nice shirt, and dress pants. He doesn't wear glasses then.
Markings>> A rigid scar across his right elbow, from a broken lane line.
But I’ve gotta let it go
Medical History>> Swam into a lane line, got stitches. Otherwise, nothing out of the ordinary.
Criminal History>> N/A
Full History>> Manfred was born deep in the heart of Germany. His parents were teachers, and he learned the value of teaching others early on. His father taught math in the 'gymnasium' that was about half an hour's ride from their village, while his mother taught history to sixth-graders. They lived in a village of about 200 inhabitants, where everyone knew each other. Horses were the way of getting around, because the old roads were horrible at best and unpassable at worst. He learned to ride as soon as he could walk, and he got his first horse, an old mare, the year he started school.
When Manfred finished his college education in Germany, inclusive of four years swimming on the school's swim team and assisting the coach with practices, he still felt as if there were more to learn out there. He moved to America to learn it. With him he brought memories and photographs of his horses, but nothing more. The horses had died in a random outbreak five days before his plane left Germany. He never came back to his homeland since then, although he would like to.
Once he had finished his American degree as well as his German one, he set about finding a job. Luckily, there was an opening in a riding academy somewhere in Kentucky, and he got chosen for the job of geometry teacher. later on, he also added the title of swim coach to his repotorie, from his many years of experience swimming.
