Blue Ridge is a fictional town located deep in the heart of Kentucky. It is home to one of the most well known equestrian academies in the United States. Students and staff from all over the world join the academy for what it has to offer. Do you have what it takes to join us and learn from the Academy?

My first introduction with this seemingly gentle giant was a pleasant one. He was slightly standoffish at first, which is understandable, seeing that this gelding has never met me. I spent some time working with, making sure he knew I wasn't a threat to him, and he accepted me rather quickly. It doesn't seem like he has any physical issues, and he is a rather friendly chap.
I spent a lot of time figuring out where he is sensitive, and found that he doesn't like being touched on his barrel, especially underneath, the area where the girth usually goes. I don't want to push him, but I will work on him accepting being touched there.
I think we had a rather successful first session. I plan on working with him during the week after class, doing a lot of body work, varying the routines. Once I know he trusts me, I will talk to Ms.Carr about taking him for hand walks around the college. This will just stimulate him, and introduce him to new surroundings.
Jester is an absolute pleasure to work with though. He seems like the type of horse that is eager to please, and will try not to let you down.
