Ben hung up Ram's lead outside of the gelding's stall after leading him out to the pasture after his riding lessons and traversed over to the White Oak Barn where Lady was. When he reached the mare, Lady was already pacing in her stall, anticipating that she would be let out. The mare grew bored easily, and Ben took note to find a new toy to occupy her once more. Grabbing the mare's yellow lead from where it hung on the stall, he opened the door and stood before it to stop Lady from barging at him. He led her out after him after clipping the lead onto her matching halter.
Walking Lady out to the pastures, Ben had to walk rather briskly to keep up with Lady's long steps, and the mare was prancing a bit beside him. Her ground manners were usually very good, but she was not so antsy to get out that she couldn't help prancing, but at least she didn't pull ahead like other horses may have. Once they reached the second pasture, Ben opened the gate and stepped in with Lady before unclipping her. Lady immediately trotted off, passing Ram, who had stationed himself rather close to the gate to monitor who entered and left, and when hay came in.
The gelding pinned his ears threateningly as Lady passed, and in response, the mare pinned her ears as well, swishing her tail as if to warn the gelding. Ram was always trying to make sure that all the horses knew that he was at the top of the pecking order, but Lady was pretty sassy herself and wasn't going to take anything from the gelding. Stepping back out and latching the gate behind him, Ben stood with his arms crossed, leaning on the fence. Both of his horses were flashy and stood out from the rest of the horses.
