Jack wasn’t too excited about the first day of classes. This would be the first year he would just be working with kids. He was use to some lessons and cowboying. His first group of trail student’s only had three kids in it however, so that was nice. He had posted for them to meet him in the main outdoor ring. He had spent the morning setting stuff up. Now he planned to get to know the kids and put them through their paces as time allowed. Calgary sat ground reined in the center of the ring. Jack stood nearby waiting for the kids to arrive.

Kall whistled as he groomed Cue and prepared the gelding for trail class. At least with two horses now, he didn't have to expect Cue to do all of the lessons and if one of them came up lame, he didn't have to worry about asking if he could ride a school horse.
With the horse tacked up and his helmet in place, Kall led his gelding out to the arena where they were told to meet their instructor. "Good afternoon." He greeted the man with an easy smile as he reached the arena and opened the gate to let himself and his Quarab in.
Ben groomed Rowen, trying to ignore the pit in his stomach. Sure, it was his first riding lesson here at the new school. That totally wasn't a reason to be nervous!
He grabbed the gelding's paracord bridle, running a hand over the braiding. He'd done it himself, of course. Ordered the jewel green specifically, to match Rowen's color. The glow in the dark black that ran along parts was his mother's suggestion, and it had turned out well, he thought. After tacking up the gelding, hoping an English saddle would be fine in this class, he led him out to the arena where the class was supposed to be held, smiling quietly at the teacher and another student as he let himself into the gate.

Eloise was stressed. She knew, deep down, that this class was not going to go well. She breathed heavily as she swung Fury's saddle up onto his back. The gelding shifted with the new weight, breathing deeply. The pair had already been working for a good 40 minutes in the round pen, mostly for Fury to have his focus on her. The gelding had done well, but she was almost certain it wouldn't last. She knew trail class wouldn't be challenging enough for him. But Eloise was determined. She had to at least try.
It didn't take them long to get to the arena after she'd finished tacking up Fury. The gelding walked nicely, keeping pace with his rider and not prancing for once. When they reached the arena, however, the gelding let out an obnoxious whinny to the other horses. Eloise rolled her eyes, making him wait patiently as she opened the gate and then reminded him of his manners as she turned to close it. She led the gelding away from the other two boys and their horses, making sure to leave enough room so that Fury would not be a distraction. She paid little attention to them, but did throw a quick glance at the teacher. "Afternoon." She greeted clearly, then returned her attention to Fury - who had taken it upon himself to prance on the spot.

"Good Afternoon." Jack said to the first student that entered the ring one of the two boys in the class. Jack watched the boy then truned back to the gate and the next boy , "Good Afternoon." Jack watched the gate waiting for the last student. "Afternoon to you too. " Jack said as he watched the prancing horse. "You many warm up if you haven't already then line up on the rail facing my mare."

Kall nodded as he continued warming Cue up. The gelding was always responsive, so getting to that point wasn't hard, as long as they weren't expected to stand around for too long, the horse would be fine.
When he felt they were ready, he rode his gelding to the rail and turned to face the mare as they were instructed, wishing he had a small idea of what would be expected of them.
Ben nodded at the instructions and mounted before he joined his classmates on the rail, working Rowen until the gelding seemed ready and was paying attention. At that point, he brought the Lusitano over to the instructor, facing the mare as they had been told to do. Now it was just a matter of waiting for instructions.

Jack looked over the gathered riders." First things first, I'm Jackson Gailson, but you all must call me Jack. Mr. Gailson is my father. I well be your new trail trainer. I have been riding my whole life. I grew up on a ranch in Texas. I have three horses, Calgery here, her son Black and Hecate. Now I want to here about you, so starting in order go around and tell me your name your horses name, want events you ride, how long you have been riding, and what you want to get out of this class."

Kall arched an eyebrow as he rubbed Cue's neck; wondering what the school board would think about a faculty member wanting to be addressed so informally, but he didn't comment. He did pull a face though at having to do an introduce yourself thing. However, he gave a bright smile and started the ball rolling. "I'm Kall, and this here is Cue. I've been riding for seven years, we do pretty much everything you can in an English saddle, though focusing on eventing. What do I want out of this class? To have fun while also using what I'm learning from my other classes." He bowed graciously toward the boy on the bay gelding beside him.
Ben kept Rowen quiet as he listened to the teacher's introduction. Good for him, but why hadn't they been able to do this before warmups? He honestly didn't care about the dude's horses anyway. "Ben, Rowen." He nodded at the horse at the second word, then continued, "Riding since forever," since before he could walk, "mainly showjumping, some trail. Here to improve in the trail discipline." Which was usually why one took a class.
