Anne stood at one end of the room, a pile of papers clutched to her chest, and allowed her eyes and her attention to wander amongst the room's other occupants who were, of course, chiefly students. It was not that she had any particular need to be here, since she quite evidently didn't having had lunch the best part of an hour earlier. Rather, she found herself in desperate need of escape from the world of words and figures, and so she had gravitated to the canteen. She might not have had any company, but she did at least have people all around her. It was oddly relaxing, but then Anne had always been happier around other people.
