There were a million good reasons to not be towing a horse trailer, and one of them was so that every time something caught Cass' eye, he could plead for his parents to pull over so that he could have a closer inspection and photograph it if the need arose - which happened more often than not, but no one was complaining.
His eyes widened as they pulled up the drive of his new school, and a sense of dread settled over him as he got as good as look as he could as they pulled into the parking area. "I can do this." He told himself quietly.
"Are you ready?" Sarah asked, all smiles, as she turned from the front passenger seat. "Let's get you all signed in while your dad has a catnap."
Cass rolled his eyes, though he knew that was what his father would do the minute the car doors were closed. "Sure, just let me get organised." Looking around to make sure they weren't being watched, he swung his door open, turned in the seat and pulled the right leg of his trackpants up and fitted his prosthetic into place before grabbing his handy-dandy cane and awkwardly jumped from the back of the Jeep. "Please don't hold my hand." He ground out as he could see his mother hovering beside him. "I'm big enough to go to school away from home, I can walk into the office without someone holding my hand!"
Walking into the office, they were hit with a blast of cold air as they entered the building, but other than that, it was a really nice temperature in here, and nothing like the boxed air in the vehicle. Straightening his back, he walked toward the desk that said reception and offered the person behind the desk a bright smile. "Hi, I'm Caspian Collins, checking into the asylum you run here." His eyes glittered as he heard the sharp breath from his mother.
