Monique stood in the auditorium, in the centre of the stage. She had asked all of the students who had auditioned for parts in the performance to meet her here today, as this would be the first time that they would run through how things were going to work, and work out the best time for them all to meet. She was even considering using most of her class time to run rehearsals, as ninety percent of the students in the play were in her class anyway, and those who didn't audition were, in a sense, going to be a part of it anyway. Beside her was a tall box, which held the scripts that she was going to hand out that day.
Since it was almost lunchtime, she was expecting the students to arrive slowly, but she hoped that they arrived sooner rather than later, as she had a lot that she wanted to get through, including who got what part, and she would have no choice but to let the students leave before the lunch period had finished so that they could go and get changed for their equestrian classes. She would have organised this for after school, but she knew many of the student body was involved in extra curricular activities and she didn't want to get in the way of them - as she had done for the actual auditions.
She looked up as the large doors opened and admitted the first of the actors.

Gretchen practically sprinted to the auditorium, eating a pop tart on the way. At her old school she'd looked forward to one thing, the school musical. Why? Well, she'd had many reasons. One reason was that the director/music teacher was her mentor, and she would do anything for him. The second was that she was a great singer, at least the kids at her old school used to say that. She'd never landed a part, her director told her there just hadn't been a part that fit her voice. But she didn't need the musical to know she could sing in tune, the 99 out of 100 on her All-State audition was enough for her.
However the best part about the musical was it was chance to be someone else! It was why she hadn't been hurt by repeatedly not getting a part and ending up in the chorus despite her talent. She'd taken her chorus parts and run with them. One year she'd been a woman with a cane in the chorus, and she'd come up with a complete backstory as to why that woman had a cane. Where she'd come from, what happened to her, things like that. Gretchen thought it was fun.
It was also good because she didn't need to be shy. She wasn't Gretchen the socially inept, she was a completely different person whoever that may be. She walked out onto the stage eager to start, and hoped everyone else came quickly.

Wearing a grey tunic dress with a black knit top and black leggings under it, with her black woollen coat over her arm, Serenity walked into the auditorium with a slight bounce in her step. She had never intended to try-out for the school production, but Tommy had twisted her arm and she had finally agreed to get him to leave her alone, she didn't expect to get a call-back.
She played with the silver pentacle that hung from a strip of leather rawhide around her neck as she walked up to the stage where the teacher was waiting with one other student already. She felt slightly nervous, but didn't allow herself to show it, keeping a small smile on her lips as she approached the two females.
She had only grabbed an apple for lunch from the cafeteria and was yet to eat it, but didn't want to if no one else had any food with them. She sat down on the stage, tucking her legs under her, and waited to see why they had all been called in, keen to know what part Ms Chambers felt was right for her - even it just meant she was going to be in the chorus, playing a part that was so minor that she didn't even get mentioned, which would have been fine by her.
Light of eye and soft of touch, speak ye little, listen much. Merry Meet and Merry Part bright the cheeks and warm the heart.
Kate made her way to the auditorium, finished up the soda that had accompanied the brief lunch she'd managed to fit in. The fastest things she could nab were chips and an orange, so that is what she had eaten, and happily too. Other ballet dancers may have scoffed at her eating habits, but Kate had never gotten caught up in the whole skinny thing, mostly because she didn't have to worry about it. A fast metabolism was in her family, so she ate what she wanted to and trained hard to make herself strong. She'd looked upon the other dancers with confusion, wondering how they were to dance well while starving themselves.
Disposing of her trash before entering, Kate bobbed into the auditorium, radiating confidence. She was fairly new to acting, so she didn't expect to get a fantastic part, but she'd tried anyways, since she was good at singing and dancing, and she knew it. The performing arts came rather naturally, and she expected theater to be the same. Either way, she'd be happy so long as she got to sing and maybe dance on a stage.
Seeing people occupy the stage, she made her way up and smiled at Ms. Chambers and the other two girls. They would be spending a lot of time together, so hopefully they would all be able to work well together. Sitting down, she folding her calves under her and smoothed the black skirt of her dress over her knees as she waited for the meeting to begin, eager for the parts to be revealed.

Cortney graced the cafeteria with her presence long enough for her to grab a chicken sandwich and apple, and then ate as she walked over to the recreation building and up to the auditorium. She dropped her trash into the bin as she walked past, using a paper napkin to wipe her mouth before that too follow the rest into the bin. She wasn't surprised to see that she wasn't the first to arrive, but she also didn't care, because it was more than obvious that she also wasn't the last to arrive.
She brushed down her cheer uniform as she walked toward the stage and stepped up where the three females were waiting. She smiled at Kate, whom she remembered from dance class, and shook off the varsity jacket she had used to keep her arms warm on the walk outside.
She had tried out for the two main female singing roles and hoped that she got at least one of them. She would be sadly disappointed, both with herself and Ms Chambers, if all she got was to sing in the chorus. Her nose curled up at that thoughts, but she brushed it away as she tapped her foot, eager to get started.

Tommy had probably been in the cafeteria longer then he was supposed to, but a growing boy needed to eat. And as he had just finished a slice of pizza and a plate of nachos, eat he had done indeed. He put his tray away and headed toward the auditorium where the drama teacher had asked them to meet her during lunch, he was already working on his apologies if everyone else was already there and they were waiting for just him.
When he walked through the door though, he saw that there were only a few people on the stage, and he knew that a production like this would need more than a handful of people. Waling forward, he passed all of the seating in the lower gallery and stepped up onto the stage. He gave his twin a wicked grin, still hardly believing that she had allowed him into bullying her to audition. He gave the teacher a charming smile. "I'm feeling a little outnumbered here." He commented as he eyed each of the females. "Did I miss a memo on females only or something?" The fourteen year old swept a grand bow. "Oh well, I guess that makes me the master of ceremonies?" There was a twinkle in his eye as he looked toward Ms Chambers.

Ben had been hesitant in signing up to audition for the play, even though he was sure that he wouldn't end up a part of it. He wasn't really a singer, so he'd auditioned for Maurice, figuring that it would be comical at the very least. Besides, girls like plays, right? He hadn't done anything like this before, but he liked attention and performing, and this seemed like a decent way to try his hand at it. Still, he'd been shocked when he'd been notified that he should show up today.
After eating his lunch, he made his way to the auditorium in the recreation center, hoping that he wouldn't stick out too much. There was already a small group on the stage as he entered a ways behind another boy, and he followed him up. The other male voiced Ben's observations about there being only girls so far, and Ben spoke up after him. "Ah, but what about me? Do I get a chance at the position?" He'd just climbed up the stairs, but he'd caught the younger boy's words.
Yes, he'd been right about the girls. They were outnumbered, but this wasn't necessarily a bad thing, at least for Ben. Grinning at the other students and then Ms. Chambers, he took a place, standing beside a cheerleader whom he sort of recognized. Perhaps this wasn't such a bad decision.
Jason hurried to the auditorium, hoping that he wouldn't be too late. He had eaten a quick lunch in order to get there as soon as possible, but then he realized that he had no idea where the auditorium was. He gad eventually hunted down a school map, and snorted as he realized that it was inside the Recreation Center. At least he knew where that was. He passed the Yellow House and opened the doors to the Rec. Center. He quickly found the auditorium, and made his way down to the small group of people gathered on stage. Looks like he wasn't too awfully late.
Jason recognized half of the students from Drama class, and the other three he had seen around campus, at the very least. He was excited to discover who he would play. Seeing as this was a musical, he assumed that lots of singing would be involved. For that reason, he had opted for a supporting role; his voice could use some work. He found a spot next to a girl he had seen at the library, deciding to stand rather than sit, like a few of the girls had done. He grinned and looked to Ms. Chambers to see what she had in store for them.

Lunch was for eating, or so Blythe had thought, before she had come to Blue Ridge. Now, lunch was for getting ready for equestrian classes, getting Kodak ready, bringing back library books, or anything else she didn't want to do after class. That was the benefit of everything being in a small area, she supposed, but then, sometimes teachers knew that lunch wasn't lunch, like today. That was alright, though, considering that she had a theory class after lunch anyway, so it wouldn't be like she had to get Kodak ready for being ridden anyway.
As she arrived at the auditorium, she pushed her way through the door and climbed the stairs, smiling brightly at everyone. She might not be the best singer, although she wouldn't admit it, so she wouldn't be disappointed if she didn't get the lead role (That was so cliche, anyway), but she definitely expected to get a part, and her confidence exuded that assurance. Finding a space next to the cheer captain, she looked around at the rest of the students, getting a feel for who was there, apart from those that she knew from Theatre/Drama class, because of course they would be there.
What had possessed him, trying out for the school musical? He wasn't quite sure, and could definitely not give an answer. He had been at the office to talk about changing a class when he had spotted the flier, and a joke had led to him actually signing up. That being said, it was even more surprising that they had wanted him to come back! He had to admit, he hadn't sounded half bad, although he'd never had too much training in the matter, unless singing along to various songs counted. Well, he was about to see how he'd done.
Entering the auditorium, he saw that everyone was meeting on the stage and walked over, going up the stairs two at a time as he joined the rest of the crew. Some of them were familiar, considering that they shared smaller classes where he could actually remember names, but others he'd never met, but that didn't matter. He wondered how many here were serious as he found a space to stand, "The party can start now." Glancing around, he tried to place everyone he knew, starting with the people that he knew were in Mounted Games. Them, he could probably tell you what colour pony they rode, although he'd be hard pressed to remember names.
