SNOW WHITE
The Basics Show Name: Snow White Barn Name: (Rose) Red Age: Eight Years Gender: Mare Breed: Swedish Warmblood, Thoroughbred Breed Registry: Swedish Warmblood
The Appearance Coat Color: Rose Grey Stable Color: Fuchsia Height: 16.2
The Personality Personality: Rose is cautious about everything, she will need to have a thorough look at anything before she will walk through a gate or doorway. She doesn't like her rider carrying anything, and will spook at her shadow if she thinks she can see something that looks like a stick or whip. Other than this though, she is a dream to ride and moves forward beautifully. Caution Around: Whips
The History Basic History: No one actually knows where Rose started her life, some say that she belonged to the man she was originally sold from, as he held her papers, other say that he was a horse thief who stole a number of horses and their papers, it was an inside job as he knew where everything was kept.
Her training was thorough, albeit a little rough in places as when she was found in a sales yard - the same place where the Oliver family found Amber - the mare's coat was covered in welts, possibly from the people who tried to load her onto the truck to transport her to the sales, and she was hobbled so that she couldn't move. Serenity didn't need to say much to convince her parents that their place was the best place for the grey mare.

The Basics Show Name: Butterfly Kisses Barn Name: Beau Age: Eight Years Gender: Mare Breed: Thoroughbred/Arab/Cob Breed Registry: Anglo Arab
The Appearance Coat Color: Bay Stable Color: Bubble Gum Height: 16 Hands
The Personality Personality: Beau is a great horse, as well as bring a great teacher - even though she is young she seems to know what's expected of her, and executes it perfectly. If there is anything bad to be said about this girl is that she seems to be allergic to everything (many would think it's work she's allergic to), as she sneezes a lot - though she has been cleared by a vet and sneezing is just something she does. When tied up, she stands like a dream and will often fall asleep while being groomed. Out in the pasture, she gets upset if turned out alone as she loves playing with others and turns into the demanding weanling who wants to touch everyone. She's not always happy when it's time to come in though and this will turn into a game of tag. This is where licorice comes in handy as she will do anything for some. Caution Around: Anything lying on the ground that could be a snake
The History Basic History: Beau was more of a surprise than anything as her dam's owners weren't expecting the mare they had just bought for their daughter to be in foal - and felt horribly guilty that their daughter had competed her so far into her pregnancy, thankfully only in dressage. It turns out though that after foaling, she is a great jumper as well. Beau was treated like a princess from day one, and everyone else told the owners that she would turn into a spoiled brat, but with the way that she was handled she turned into the perfect horse, even while she was being doted on and treasured, she was also given very solid guideline on what was and wasn't acceptable. Monique found her advertised in the paper and surprised Rory with the mare as a late birthday present.

ALLĀH'S GIFT
The Basics Show Name: Allāh's Gift Barn Name: Olé Age: 6 Gender: Mare Breed: Holsteiner Breed Registry: AHHA
The Appearance Coat Color: Bay Sabino Stable Color: Amethyst Height: 17.2
The Personality Personality: Olé only ever looks as big as she is when she's not being ridden. With someone on her back, you would be sure that she was a small Thoroughbred. Rather than the time-bomb she was when she first arrive, this mare is now as sweet as honey and will do anything that is asked of her - no matter whether she's being ridden or handled on the ground. Although not the perfect beginner's mount, she is a great teacher and would suit a rider who is anywhere from novice-intermediate to novice-advanced. Caution Around: Her. Food (though she is getting better)
The History Basic History: This mare's training started the day she was born - with the death of her dam. She was given to a mare (who's own foal had just been weaned) and thankfully the foster mother took to the new foal without any problems. Olé was left until she was two and a half before any "proper" training started to take place and she was slowly introduced to a bridle and then a saddle, though she didn't have a rider on her until she was three. She took to having a rider well and as she grew received extensive training and easily schooled over 3'6" jumps.
Trying to keep her beautiful colouring, she was bred to a stunning stallion, but it all fails when she became possessive of her foal and no one could get near mare or foal for another six month when they weaned the foal and separated them. Olé went back to her training. It was a year later that she was stolen and when found at an auction - heavily pregnant - they decided to sell the mare with foal at foot (as they didn't want her to travel any more than she had to while carrying a foal) as the mare they returned to their farm wasn't the mare they knew as her attitude had completely changed.

UNEXPECTED PLOT
Registered Name>> Unexpected Plot Barn Name>> Plot Age>> Twelve Sex>> Mare Breed>> Selle Français Breed Registry>> ANSF-US
Coat Colour>> Bay Stable Colour>> Blue Mist Height>> 16.1 hh
Personality>> Plot is quite the unpredictable horse. Not in a mean way, but if something other than you catches her attention, it is very easy for her to fall apart, and she'll focus on the new interest. This can be her downfall, especially when she's working with other horses jumping, but keeping her busy can limit these sidetrackings. She's very vocal, always 'expressing' herself, even if there's no one paying attention to her... But how could they not, with the way this girl always finds her way to come and supervise whatever is happening? She's always sticking her nose into what's going on, curious about what anyone might be doing. While she still prefers to spend her time outside, she can now handle being in a stall for a small amount of time. Caution Around>> Doesn't like trailers and enclosed spaces, so she needs to be convinced gently.
Basic History>> Plot's life has had quite a number of unexpected twists and turns (Although she's had her show name since long before these happened). She was born in France, where she was raised for two years, before she was sold to be started under saddle. Circumstances sent her owner to America, while Plot was left with his daughter, who continued her training to the best of her ability. However, soon enough, she was sent for, and off to America this mare went. She proved an absolute terror on the ship, finally being calmed through the use of quite a lot of sedative. However, once she was unloaded, they faced a new problem... The mare hated trailers, and any enclosed spaces at all. They managed to get her home safely, but found that she couldn't be kept in a stall. Since pasture living wasn't plausible for her owner, he made the hard choice to sell her.

Light of eye and soft of touch, speak ye little, listen much. Merry Meet and Merry Part bright the cheeks and warm the heart.
Personality>> Dragan's not your little sweetheart. If anything goes wrong, his first thought is to save himself, with no care for his rider. If you're going to go out trail riding, you had better watch your own head, because he wouldn't recognize a tree branch that might catch his rider. He's also not a huge fan of little children, which developed after he joined his last home. As much as he might be a gelding, he'd rather not spend his time with any other males, tending to align himself with the mares in the group (Although whether they'll accept him is a different story). However, he'll simply stick to himself, not lash out, so even turning him out with geldings works. Caution Around>> Careful around trees, scared of young children (you know the ones who scream and can't keep still)
Basic History>> Out of Cherryhill Park, by The Hunter, Dragan was a star right from the start. By the age of two, he was on his way to training, with a well-known hunter/jumper teacher. He learned with the best, without an intermediate rider between them, and as such, was soon quite the champion. However, all of that changed one day, while he was being led from the barn to the arena. The barn owner's young daughter ran out from behind a row of bushes, startling the gelding and sending him tearing off. Luckily, he wasn't hurt in the incident, but ever since, he has had a fear of young children, but he did have a hard time focusing at the establishment. After working with him to get him used to walking past potential hiding spaces, his owners decided to sell him on, for him to get a fresh start.

- Tribe Unknown
Personality>> Storm lives to please; he will do everything that is asked of him and not question the why of it. He likes to keep himself busy, and if that means destroying his stall, so be it. Chewing wood? If it keeps him occupied, he'll do it! Storm has disgusting ground manners; he will kick out when people are trying to handle his feet, bite if you don't keep an eye on his head, and is known for swatting his handler - hard - with his tail. He's happy to be in the middle of the pecking order, where nothing is expected of him. Has a sweet tooth, especially when it comes to sugar cubes. Caution Around>> People dropping things loudly, and the veterinarian (hates with a vengeance).
Basic History>> The owners of Storm's dam thought they were going to lose both mare and foal on the night of a rather violent storm. The foal was malpresentation; one knee bent the other straight, so if it hadn't been for the storm, the owners would have lost both, because of the funny weather, they wanted to remain with the mare in case she foaled that night. Storm's handling started pretty much straight away, since he was handled at birth and formed a bond with the woman he seemed easy to train early. And things went well, until the couple's son decided that they were doing the training all wrong and took over - and since he was a knowledgeable horseman, they believed what he said. As soon as the colt was weaned, he went and lived with their son and was promptly gelded (which could be where his fear of the veterinarian came from). As much as he wanted to please the person he was working with, Storm was pushed beyond his ability and his spirit was quickly broken. Although still eager to please, Storm developed nasty habits of attacking his handler - in the most subtle way possible' a nip here and here, a kick when he thought he could get away with it. Trained in dressage and hunter jumping, Storm did well and jumped anything and everything he was pointed at no matter the height, whatever his rider wanted, he would do. However, when he wasn't being ridden, he was confined to his stall, because he was such a hassle to handle, and due to this, the gelding picked up a number of vices to keep himself entertained while being in a box for 22 out of 24 hours in the day.
Owner>> Elizabeth Toman Rider>> Elizabeth Toman Discipline>> Dressage (Novice), Hunter Jumping (Intermediate)
Personality>> Spur comes off as being the perfect dream horse. He can think on his feet, he seems to be able to adapt to any given situation and can seem to fix any mistake his rider makes. He has a perfect veterinarian record, as it seems that germs fear him and he never seems to get sick. He is an independent horse, so if out riding with friends, he won't be the one to kick up a fuss if you ask him to head in a different direction to everyone else. Yet while in the pasture, he's happy to be the middle man, no interest in knocking heads with the leader horse or bullying the other lesser horses. He also has great ground manners, though he can seem to get sulky if he sees his handler petting other horses. If drinking beer, don't let him near your cup. Caution Around>> Balloons - he just doesn't like 'em
Basic History>> Although his breeding may seem strange to some people, especially since the owners owned and operated an Andalusian stud, but the Mustang stallion that was picked had the kind of temperament that they were looking for, and he also wasn't too tall. The mare was the stallion's complete opposite, she was taller and moody.
When the colt was born, they were expecting the worst as he was long legged and gangly, showing he was going to be tall like his dam, which the owners thought would also mean that he would have her nasty spirit. That idea was quickly squished though, as the colt seemed to love everyone and took to being handled easily.
He was gelded before he was six months of age and then weaned two months later, when his training really started. Although basic handling was done since birth, he was now taught to have his feet handled, to stand nicely while tied up and groomed. When he was two, he was introduced to the saddle and then a rider a year and a half later.
Spur began to make a name for his owners in the dressage arena and seemed to shine in the jumping ring, making impossible choices that many other riders wouldn't think twice of doing. It was at a large show that he was spotted by Emmanuel Paquet (who was at the same establishment for a business dinner) and the man decided then and there that this was the horse his son would win competitions on, rather than some aged school hack.
Personality>> Cue is your typical push button pony... horse. He knows what needs to be done, and if he can get away with it, all he will give you is what is needed for him to do, though he hates standing still once he's saddle got his saddle on, so he needs his rider to have a schooling session planned out in full before they tack him up, otherwise he will shift from foot to foot. Cue is happy to be around people and other horses, though he won't call out to you to catch your attention, and is known for looking after the younger members of the herd. If you need to bribe him for something, he absolutely adores licorice, so Kall knows to always have some on hand if he's in a hurry to bring Cue in. Caution Around>> Cue has abandonment issues, so can freak out for no obvious reason if he thinks he's being left behind.
Basic History>> Not a lot is known about the start of Cue's life, as Kall's riding instructor found the gelding advertised online and the current owners weren't very forthcoming about much more information other than the gelding's training and ability in the ring to win ribbons. Kall felt an instant connection with the willing gelding, and the horse had enough training to make him a great teacher for the young rider, so it was really a match made in heaven.

Night Mystique
Registered Name>> Night Mystique Barn Name>> Pyre Age>> 6 years Sex>> Mare Breed>> Merens Pony Breed Registry>> SHERPA (Syndicat hippique des éleveurs de la race pyrénéenne ariégeoise)
Coat Colour>> Black Stable Colour>> Red Height>> 14.1 hh
Personality>> Pyre really isn't that hard to read, unlike her name would suggest. If you're annoying her, she'll let you know. If she's happy? You'll definitely know, although you'll really know when you give her sugar cubes. She puts her whole heart into the work she does, making her a wonderful competition mount. However, a downside of this calm excitement is her reaction, which would be to release a cloud of gas, varying in deadliness. Caution Around>> If you ride her in a group, especially out on the trail, she tends to get herd sour, not wanting to leave the group.
Basic History>> Born during the Transhumance in France, Pyre didn't even get to know humans before she was a few months old. However, that didn't mean that she learned to fear them, rather, learned to love them for the ease that they provided. They started handling her at four months of age, and since then, she came along in leaps and bounds. When she was almost a year, she went out to the mountains again, for the last time in her life.
After that year, she was sold to a trainer in the US, and her training began. The trainers, amazed with the patient, well-mannered filly they'd bought, did their best to keep that streak in her, and weren't surprised to find her to be a perfect mare for younger riders, or those new to the sport. However, four years of training weren't enough to save her when things went bad, and they sold her, which is how she ended up at Blue Ridge.

TEXAS HOLD 'EM
Registered Name>> Texas Hold 'Em Barn Name>> Tex Age>> eight years Sex>> gelding Breed>> welsh, section b Breed Registry>> WPCSA (Welsh Pony and Cob Society of America)
Coat Colour>> Flaxen Chestnut with half an apron blaze Stable Colour>> Plum Height>> 13hh
Personality>> Tex is a very forceful and decisive pony, when he believes that what he is doing is for the best then nothing can convince him otherwise, and his rider is likely to have a fight on their hands if they try and tell him he is wrong. He gets bored very easily if he had to do the same thing over and over again, as he's not stupid and catches on pretty quickly when things are explained properly.
He's very inquisitive and loves to watch what people are doing, he also likes to get in people's faces, which people have translated to him being pushy and has resulted to him being reprimanded for it.
Out in the field he's the protector of the innocents and is always looking out for any foal or younger herd member to take under his wings. Above all else, he had superb ground manners and is always careful of where his feet are. Until the person working with him really gets to know him, Tex tends to come off as a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde. Caution Around>> Gets a little excited when he sees an arena with jumps.
Basic History>> What started as a backyard breeding organisation established into a stud farm with high standards, and the mares and stallions were paired carefully. Tex's dam was calm and patient, whereas the sire was the complete opposite, the owners hoping that the foal would give them a mix of the temperaments, though Tex took after his sire and everything since day one has been a fight.
Tex's training started with a few problems, as the colt felt that he didn't need to listen to his handler, but because of his bloodlines, the owners didn't want to geld him. However, once the colt become a stallion, things had to change and he was gelded when he was five and a half, which meant that the now gelding retained a few of his stallion traits and hot-headedness.
It quickly become apparent that the youngster loved the show ring and took to jumping like a fish to water, and because of the fluid grace he showed when going over fences, rather than eventing - like his dam and sire were trained in - he was trained for the hunter ring. It turns out that dressage became his pet-peeve though as he didn't like the repetition of it.
Due to being a bit of a hot-head, Tex has never remained in any one place for long, as it seemed that no rider could find the right language to bond with the pony, or a trainer that the pony didn't take offense to. And it was at a show where he was spotted by Tony Andrews who read that the gelding was also for sale and decided that the pony would be perfect for his little charge.
Registered Name>> Père Temps Barn Name>> Enfant Age>> 11 Sex>> Gelding Breed>> Cheval de Selle Français Breed Registry>> Association Nationale du Selle Français
Personality>> From a look Enfant gives every sign of being a stroppy an unpredictable horse, which he is. He is known for being a flight risk if anything "scary" catches his eye, and his mood will determine what will be scary from one moment to the next so he needs to be kept focused on what he is doing. While being ridden, he is known for foaming at the mouth, at first this can catch people off guard and the vet and dentist will get called - like at every new show - but there is nothing medically wrong with this boy, he just likes to keep his mouth well lubricated. When out in the pasture, he is happy being the middle man. While he refuses to be at the bottom of the pecking order, he's not going to fight for the top spot - too much energy involved, and it would get in the way of following things along the fenceline; be they human or vehicle. He is a real terror when it's time to be caught. He will remain completely still as you approach and make it look like he's happy to see you, however you get within touching distance and he's gone like the wind, so it is advised to enter the pasture with copious amount of sugar cubes, as this is the one treat he can not resist. Caution Around>> Big Dogs - just when they're all lunging and barking
Basic History>> Born at a Selle Français stud in France, Enfant's parents were the perfect candidates for an up and coming sporthorse. While his handling started right from day one - as was the practice of the farm - he was left to grow into his frame before training under saddle began in his third year.
It became obvious that Enfant was born to jump, whether in an arena or over a cross country course, there didn't seem to be anything that phased the young horse who only wanted to jump higher, and while he didn't show the same passion in the dressage arena, he easily became an eventer, and was shown for the stud farm for another four years and the now seven year old gelding was put up for sale.
His next home found him on a plane headed for the United States, and once the vetting was finished he was on a truck and on his way to a competition barn in New York, where he was dotted on and the woman who had purchased him knew she'd made the right decision the first time she took him to a show. The horse became fondly known as Superman around the show circuit as it seemed that he would leap a building in a single bound.
It was through word of mouth that Emmanuel caught wind of this remarkable horse, and knew that an animal like this was what his son needed to make it to the top, so he called his people, who called their people, and after negotiations, the chestnut horse was on his way to Blue Ridge Academy.

SILENUS THE WISE
Registered Name>> Silenus the Wise Barn Name>> Sill Age>> 7 Sex>> gelding Breed>> Mustang Breed Registry>> NAMAR
Coat Colour>> Dun (with frosting in mane and tail) Stable Colour>> Black Height>> 15.3
Personality>> Sill is a quick learner, to the point that he will pick up anything that he sees another horse or person do, and this includes how to open stall doors, and will happily let himself out and go for a wander to see the neighbours or anything else that catches his attention. Horse running down the road? It's probably Sill. He hates being in the bath stall and once you actually convince him to walk in, he'll more than likely squish his handler against the sides and the one having the bath will end up being the handler, not the horse. All around he's pretty disrespectful toward his handler in all sense of the word, though this can get taught out of him. When saddled up, he will chew incessantly on the bit, there's nothing wrong with his teeth, he just seems to like playing with things that are in his mouth In the pasture he'll more often be found hanging with the ponies, and strangely they tolerate him. The easiest way to catch him is with pickles, as he's obsessed with them - kind of like a pregnant woman Caution Around>> Will spook if things are dropped loudly Make sure the kick bolt is done at the bottom of his stall
Basic History>> Picked up at a BLM auction as a colt, Sill's life has pretty much been perfect right from the start, and that also probably where the troubles started. He was treated more like a pet than a horse and was spoiled rotten, so when it came time to train the three year old, he'd already picked up all his wonderful habits of disrespect.
Once he finally accepted the saddle, things started to get a little better and he quickly found that he really enjoyed jumping so that's the direction his owner took him in, Thing were going great, he was placing really well at his shows and then at one event, he crashed full speed into an oxer made out of logs and flipped over the jump. After that everything went wrong, while there was nothing physically wrong with him, he became an over night dirty stopper. In desperation to not have to retire the youngster, Romy contacted a riding buddy and vet to see if she could do anything to help.

WHEN LIGHTNING STRIKES
Registered Name>> When Lightning Strikes Barn Name>> Loki Age>> 12 Sex>> Gelding Breed>> Dutch Warmblood, Irish Sport Horse Breed Registry>> KWPN and ISH (parents and grandparents are in both studbooks which allowed him to register as both breeds)
Coat Colour>> Dark Bay Stable Colour>> Yellow Height>> 17hh
Personality>> Loki is a walking nightmare; he's temperamental, he kicks, bucks and rears as soon as someone mounts up, and he's a pig to handle on the ground if he doesn't know the person who is handling him, and he's a really quick learner, so he only has to get away with someone once to know what he can get away with. This horse doesn't push buttons, he destroys them.
With all that said though, it doesn't take him long to settle down and he's close to perfect in the arena, though is prone to throwing a fit if he knows that he's in the right and is being asked to do something the wrong way, so while he's not known to kick out at other horses, it is best to ride him with a red ribbon on his tail.
He is the boss of the paddock, though knows that his chosen human is the boss over him, and will quickly put horses back in their place when fights over the pecking order break out. He is quite protective over young horses and children. Caution Around>> Balloons (including hot air balloons), plastic bags and dogs (hasn't been introduced to them properly, so this can be fixed with proper education)
Basic History>> Loki started at one of the best stud farms around, and gained his stable name from being a little prankster at an early age, if there was something he could do to get himself in trouble, he was in the thick of it, and even when he should be in the deepest of trouble he would turn his thickly lashed eyes toward whatever human was approaching him and blink as though to say "how'd that happen?" and everything would be forgiven. With that said though, he wasn't spoiled and was reprimanded when he needed it. Due to his rambunctious nature, it was decided that he would make a better gelding than a stallion.
Quick to pick up on his lessons, Loki sailed through everything and when he was four was introduced to the world of jumping and he took to it as though it was what he was born to do - which he was since both of his parents were skilled at the sport.
He made a bang when he entered the world of competitions and was quickly envied by other riders as there didn't seem to be anything he wouldn't jump, and took courses at a speed that seemed impossible, more often than not, clearing everything in his path.
As the horse-world moves Loki was sold on to other riders and slowly vanished from the competition world and his name became no more than a whisper of a memory on the show scene.
Years later, an angry bay gelding stands at the back of his yard at the sales, kicking and biting at anyone who gets too close. A nightmare to handle and a terror in the ring, it was sure that he was going to be picked up by the meat-man, but instead he found himself on his way to the Oliver property, where he was turned out into a field with an open box.
Home for the summer, Serenity found herself drawn to the huge horse and after a bit of work she convinced Loki that they did indeed want to work together and once she had ridden him once, she decided that he'd return to the Academy with her for her Senior year.
