Becca really did appreciate being in Blue Ribbon, and she loved having her room to herself. More often than not, she preferred the privacy and comfort of her room to spending her time in public places. She did however, get rather lonely sometimes. She was considering getting a cat, and was looking into different pets that may be able to keep her company, but human interaction was really what she needed.
After her classes ended that day, she returned to her room and changed out of her clothes that she'd worn to the barn and back into her outfit that she'd been in earlier. Usually she just changed to sweats at this point and stayed in her room to focus, but today she got dressed again, figuring that she could finish her homework in the common room. She'd already done a lot during lunch, so now she just had to finish it up before she could relax for the evening. Smoothing her straightened hair into a tight high ponytail, she gathered her homework into a pile and brought it downstairs with her along with her phone, a mug, and the book she was reading in case she finished.
Finding a spot on the couch in the common room, she placed her things on the table before her and went over to the kitchenette, making herself a mug of hot chocolate, checking her phone while she waited for the water to heat. She stirred in a pinch of chili powder that she found in the spice drawer as well before returning to her spot on the couch. The trick was something that her old nanny had taught her, and she now knew many yummy ways to make different variations of her favorite hot drink.
Settling into the couch, she pulled her notebook into her lap and continued working diligently on her homework, sipping from her mug once in a while. She kept most of her attention focused on her work, though she still listened for any movement, looking up to scan the room around her every couple of minutes for people.
