Katherine had been looking forward to the end of the day, as she had arranged with Tux to go on a picnic in the meadow after their respective days had finished, though as soon as lessons had finished for that day, the skies had opened and she now stood in her office looking at the rain that was sheeting down outside. She sighed as she looked at the picnic basket that was sitting beside her fridge, where some of the food was waiting.
After she had finished helping bring the few horses in that had been in the pastures and settling them in for the night with their food, she glanced outside again as she rubbed Garçon's nose. "It seems that we won't be going to a ride this evening." She told him softly. And after giving him a kiss, she made her way into the feed room to supervise the students.
It was as she was listening to the students talking about their lessons while working, that she came up with a plan. While the intended place of their picnic was no longer suitable, there was no reason they couldn't still picnic. Taking her phone out, she sent Tux a text, asking him to meet her in the Indoor arena when he was finished.
Once her barn was settled down for the evening, the horses and ponies happy in their boxes, munching on hay, or finishing their dinner, she grabbed the food, basket and blanket and made her way across to Benedict's Arena and began to set things up. This would be something that her daughter would have done as a child, though the girl's picnic would have been for her large array of stuffed animals and dolls.
