Blue Ridge is a fictional town located deep in the heart of Kentucky. It is home to one of the most well known equestrian academies in the United States. Students and staff from all over the world join the academy for what it has to offer. Do you have what it takes to join us and learn from the Academy?

Tux laughed as he imagined the foals doing just what he'd suggested, "Well, I hope not. But it's not out of the realm of possibilities." In fact, now he was half hoping for just that. It would give him such a good opportunity to make that joke again. He took a forkful of one of the salads as Katherine talked about her class, or rather, her single student. Was it still a class? "That's nice to hear."
At Katherine's suggestion, he grinned, "That sounds like a nice idea." He smiled, "Although I'm bringing the food next time." He might need to get some help with that, but he wasn't going to make it Katherine's responsibility every time. He could manage sandwiches, at the very least, and he was sure that the almighty internet had some other foolproof things he could try, "I'm glad the weather's getting nicer."

Katherine laughed. "I can just about hear the wheels turning in your head. Yes, my class is more of a private lesson than a class, but it is marked as a class in my student's schedule. You could always join my class if you want?" She couldn't help the light tease
She grinned as he offered to bring the food. "That sounds perfect." She said as she sipped at her drink and nodded to the comment on the weather. "Yes, Guardian is no doubt looking forward to a little more outside time." The aged gelding was limited to hand grazing in the winter months, just because he was the one horse she didn't want to chance getting a chill, as he didn't have the young age to fight off winter chills like the others.

Tux smiled, "It's a date, then." He had spoken flippantly, but regretted the choice of words almost immediately. Averting his gaze, he glanced around the arena, "Yes, I look forward to spending some time with Guardian. He's much more confidence-inspiring when you," a brief pause as he considered just telling Katherine, "When you can only see half of what's going on."

Katherine's eyebrows rose at his words and she knew she was grinning like a schoolgirl before she regained control of her expression. "I am sure that Guardian will be happy to know that." Her brow dipped as she took in his words and she tipped her head to the side as she studied him. "Are you telling me that I put you on a horse and you can't see properly?" There was no judging in her tone. "Good thing there's nothing wrong with his vision then."

Tobias shrugged, "Something like that, yes." He was afraid he'd just done irreparable damage to his friendship, if not even his career, by admitting to it, but it was better than it coming out in another year, or two years, or whenever, "Following a bacterial infection a few years ago, I have no sight in my left eye." He shrugged again, unsure of what to say, "That's why I don't ride any of the other horses. I haven't worked up the nerve to, and Guardian is about my speed right now."

Katherine nodded, feeling quite honoured that he had shared this with him, as she gathered from the way he was speaking that it wasn't public knowledge, and then cursed herself for that thought, because she would know about it if everyone knew (duh). She winced at how it had happened, as it sounded like it would have been painful. "Please tell me you at least told Guardian?" She asked with a small smile. "You don't need two good eyes to ride. I need to get you up riding blindfolded. Might even be time soon to move you onto another school master when you're in the arena?"

Tux chuckled, "Yes, he's aware. That's why he and I get on so well." Not that he'd exactly told the horse, but the grey seemed to sense it anyway. He'd been giving him a bit more room on that side when they were on the trails or elsewhere. At the idea of a blindfold, he blanched, but then considered it. He'd been letting it hold him back, but here was finally an opportunity to ride again, and possibly do more than just plod around - no offense to Guardian. "I might not be entirely opposed to that, but I'll have to ask Guardian." He smiled, "Any specific horse you had in mind?" He could at least see if he liked the 'new' schoolmaster.

Katherine chuckled at Guardian being aware of the fact, and didn't doubt that the wise gelding would know whether he'd been told or not.
Her eyebrows lifted when he didn't seem so keen on the idea of being blindfolded when on horseback, though she wouldn't push it, as she didn't want him to feel like he was being bullied into it.
She gave a wicked grin when he asked about the horse she had in mind, as she could think of all the horses who wouldn't be suitable for Tux to ride until he was completely confident in the saddle. "I was thinking Donovon." She replied. He neighboured the stall to Guardian so he would a horse that the man would also know, if only by passing. "Or Casper." Also from her own barn, both of whom were great with people who were finding their confidence in the saddle, and all of the inappropriate horses she could think of were in the other barn.

Tux could place the first horse, a big bay, which Katherine had actually ridden occasionally while he was on Guardian. "Donovon seems a solid horse, that would be okay." He didn't remember meeting Casper, "I'll try to find Casper the next time I visit the barn, but I trust you not to put me on some bronc." He finished his plate and set it down, wiping his hands on his jeans and then shifting slightly on the sand to a more comfortable position, "Any hints on Casper? Color, breed?"
