Leander entered the feed and tack store, breathing in deeply as the familiar smell hit his nose. He had come to town to accomplish a few errands, not least of which was replenishing the grain that Lenore and Nessus got. Neither horse got much, but their bags still emptied every few months and needed replacement.
However, as Leander turned into the aisle where the feed had always been stored, he was faced with dog leashes instead. Frowning, Lee checked the aisle number. Yep, he was right. But it seemed that the store had been rearranged. He shrugged and wandered down the aisle, looking at the dog supplies. Maybe he'd take Akamu a treat while he was here.

It was cold in the town, and Kate breathed a sigh of relief as she entered the relative warmth of the- well, she'd call it a saddlery, but around here they seemed to call it a tack store. Why, she wasn't sure. Just one of those many tiny little things that made America such a unique country, even if its culture was fundamentally based on that of Britain.
But saddles smelled the same anywhere, and Kate smiled as she inhaled the sweet scent of the store. She was home again. In fact, she was so absorbed with her internal satisfaction that she almost forgot why she was there. Almost. But she knew very well that Lilith would never forgive her if she didn't find some kind of treat. So she made her way down towards the dog supplies, offering a smile to the man already browsing.

Leander stood in front of the dog treats, trying to decide between all of them. There was a nice variety here, even if dogs were only a small part of the population served, and there were quite a few that even he would consider giving his dog.
As someone else approached, Lee glanced up, returning the woman's smile and shifting back so that she could also see the selection on hand. Then, back to the decision at hand. The problem was, Akamu enjoyed everything.

The blonde gave the other person occupying the aisle a friendly nod of thanks and began to browse the selection on offer. Ugh, so many to choose from, and she didn't recognise any of them! All these new packages with unfamiliar names... She hadn't the first clue what any of them were, and she had even less clue whether Lilith would adapt readily to a new diet. Although it looked as though the collie was going to have to, because Kate couldn't guarantee that she'd be able to remember what she'd bought from one week to the next.

Leander shrugged as he perused the options, "Glad I'm not the only one having a tough time making decisions." He grinned, then grabbed one of the boxes off of the shelf, "Anyway. He'll be happy with whatever he gets. No taste, that one." With a parting smile at the woman, he started walking down the aisle, now back on to his original task - Finding the grain!

Kate returned the other man's grin and nodded. "Always been terrible at making decisions." she remarked by way of explanation. It was quite usual for her to be stood in front of a shelf for hours at a time, utterly incapable of deciding between two different brands of chocolate. It was genetic, she thought; her mother had had the same problem before her. The blonde offered a friendly wave as the man began to disappear down the corridor.

Lee returned the woman's wave and then turned the corner, glancing down the aisles as he passed them. The grain had been moved all the way to the back. He considered this - It was probably closer to the loading bay, so it'd be easier for the workers to carry in the big bags. Not an unreasonable move. After picking up one of the big bags and hanging it over one shoulder, he made his way to the counter, where he set down the bag of treats and turned so the cashier could scan the grain with a smile.
