Blue Ridge is a fictional town located deep in the heart of Kentucky. It is home to one of the most well known equestrian academies in the United States. Mika watched as the jumps were not only raised, but also changed. Now the competition really began! He rode over as they were called, and watched as the girl on her pony went over the jumps, he was impressed with the pony's jumping ability, but was sure that this would be her last clear round.
He rode Butch into the arena, circled and asked for a canter and moved out of the saddle as the horse actually had to start jumping from the beginning, and when they had cleared all four, he rode out with a shrug; almost as though to say what else did you expect.

Felix had taken the jumps rather well over the first part of the course. Now they were rising higher and higher, and Andrea could still feel that he was just as excited. Energy is a good quality for a jumping horse, but the problem Felix had was he became clumsy. In fact, he'd started tossing his head and stumbling over his own feet. Andrea did her best to keep him focused.
When it was finally their turn, Felix was a bit too forward than she would have liked. Still, he cleared all the obstacles. Even if he did buck a couple of times on their way out.

Brad grinned as the jumps were changed. The challenge was finally starting. He was excited, and he could feel Jasper getting excited, too. Jasper pawed the ground, and Bradley quickly corrected him. The horse was eager for his turn to jump. Brad was too, but he could wait. He watched as the three horses in front of him all cleared the jumps. The pony had a bit of a challenge, but she made it, barely.
On his turn, he cantered around the arena in his opening circle, and then headed for the jumps. He cleared the four jumps with no problem, and then headed back to the warm-up arena. He was excited for the next part of the competition.

Amaya gritted her teeth as the jumps were changed. She was up for the challenge, but neither her horse or her were trained in show jumping. She had only entered the competition for the fun of it, and for the hopes that she could possibly show up the show jumpers. She figured it probably wouldn't happen, but there was no hurt in trying. She waited for her turn, and then headed towards the ring when her signal was given.
She ran her opening circle with Tinkerbell, and then faced the jumps. She cleared the first two with no problem. The second two were a bit more difficult, and she clipped the third one. Luckily, nothing fell. She cleared the fourth one with no problem. She headed back to the warm-up area, figuring this would be her last round. She probably wouldn't make it through the next one.
Ben sucked in air through his teeth as the configuration of jumps changed, and they increased even further in height. He knew Rowan could do it - Trusted the horse to do it - but still, there was something about watching those jumps rise that was making him nervous.
So, he turned away, watching only the rider he knew had been in front of him. When she left the warmup arena, he headed for the gate and waited his turn. A new circle around the arena to get up to speed, and then four jumps - Really, only four now? They were done in an instant, and Ben patted the gelding's neck as they returned to the standby arena. This time, he made sure not to look, focusing on the girl on the western horse.
