Personality>> Grace has this soft aura around her, like she’s always willing to put down whatever she’s doing in order to help you. Usually, that is the case. Grace lives for serving others, almost to the point where her own well-being is compromised. This trait has gotten more serious after the death of her husband. This middle-aged woman can always be found with a gentle smile on her face and a listening ear. She will genuinely do her best to help you through whatever issue you might be facing. Many of her students come to her with help on history homework, to celebrate a nomination, or find support through dark times. However, be careful when discussing the military, for then her sentences become guarded and her eyes harden. It’s her body’s subconscious way of warning others away from potentially causing her more grief. When she’s not teaching, she could be called soft-spoken, for she doesn’t really have lots of things to say. Well, unless you happen to get into an argument with her. Then there seems to be no end to her words.

Appearance>> Grace is quite attractive for a woman her age. Slight wrinkles around her vibrant blue eyes have actually enhanced her always-smiling look. She is not a tall woman, standing at 5’7. However, she prefers to maintain a business/professional appearance during school hours, and therefore can be found in heels that boost her height up an inch or two. Her hair is naturally a light brown, though she is known to occasionally dye it a straw-blond or a darker brown. It lies just above shoulder-level, and tends to curl forward slightly. Her skin is peach colored with a healthy glow. As stated before, Grace adheres to professional clothing at school. For example, a suit/pencil skirt or a nice blouse and dress pants. (Think business causal).
Markings>> Pierced ears, just one in each.
But I’ve gotta let it go
Medical History>> A sprained ankle as a child, a week or so spent in and out of medical facilities when she failed to begin menstruating by age 17.
Criminal History>> None, but has had to testify in court as a witness a few times
Full History>>
Grace was born to a military mother, and as a result, traveled around the United States of America. She was an only child and thrived under her parents' loving care and attention. They raised her to always consider the feelings of others, and that true courage was standing up for those who couldn't do it by themselves. Grace learned to care for all people, regardless ff race, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, or mental state. Throughout her schooling years, she was an A, A- student, excelling in social studies courses but stumbling through sciences. Her senior year was interrupted by troubling visits to the doctor and the revelation that she was barren. Grace shrugged it off, thinking it unimportant at the time. She graduated and decided to study abroad.
She traveled to Europe, settling in Italy for a few years. She absolutely loved it, surrounded by the rich history and ageless architecture. It was there, also, that she met quite a few handsome young men. However, after rather disappointing reactions to her secret, she buried it deeper and began thinking of herself as less-than. She sunk into depression, but after literally running into a young soldier named Robert Ackerman, she began climbing back up. After their first date, she knew that he was the one. The two complimented each other's strengths and weakness so well that close friends called them the perfect couple. Sure, they had a few rough spots, but they always managed to reconcile. Most importantly, Robert was perfectly happy with Grace, infertility and all. Soon enough, the two got married. During Robert's last year at Caserma Ederle, Italy, he was given a gelding. A young Lusitano. Turns out he had been raised by dressage trainers. Knowing that Grace was scared of horses, he attempted to introduce the two slowly. The plan was going great, and they got to the point where Grace was comfortable with horses being about 5 ft. away from her. However, by then the year was gone, and the Robert was moved to another military base. He left his horse in the care of a prestigious stable, leased to his friendly rival with the request to continue his training. Grace loved moving around with her husband, and those 5 years were the best years of her life. Then, Robert was deployed to the Middle East.
Grace was staying in Japan at this time, and anxiously snatched up any bit of news she could concerning the conflicts or the soldiers there. Then, on her 30th birthday, she received a letter informing her that her husband had been killed. She was devastated, and didn't know what to do with her life. She kept herself as busy as possible, so that she would have no time to grieve. Worried for her well-being, her family back in the States arranged for her to return to her home country. Slowly, the pain faded. She felt more like herself, and didn't want to be a burden on her family any more. She knew it was time to move on. She decided to become the history teacher that she had studied to be. She swore off falling in love with men, saying that she had already found her Mr. Right; no one else could compare. She found Blue Ridge Riding Academy, and sent in an application. Then, she asked Robert's friend to please ship Taboo over. It was her way of holding on during her process of letting go. Granted, her fear of horses still stood in the way, but at least she could see with her eyes that Taboo was being taken care of how Robert had wanted.
We found love in a hopeless place
